Brompton C Line Electric review: Fun and foldable, fits better than you’d think

A motor evens out its natural disadvantages, but there's still a learning curve.

@arstechnica I tried one of these when I was shopping for a new bike. But I didn’t feel stable on a little folding bike (I know that is a me problem). I ended up getting a full-size bike.

Still, if you have very limited space, this is probably a good idea. They make a basket with a battery in it that you can stick on the front.

@arstechnica The AMA has deprecated BMI as a primary diagnostic indicator because it doesn't give an accurate picture of patient health and drives misdiagnosis and medical neglect. Are these people trying to bring it back?

Also kids tend to chunk up before they have growth spurts. Using BMI doesn't take this into account.

@arstechnica There’s a huge weight-loss industry in America which has accomplished regulatory capture of multiple agencies and makes money based on the fact that none of its products work long-term.

Having to adjust to something that does work - like Ozempic - gives away the con.

US prisons rife with human rights abuses, especially against Black people, UN says ( www.reuters.com )

Practices that are routine in U.S. prisons, like shackling women during childbirth and unpaid forced labor, are an “affront to human dignity,” and represent the “worst version of a racist criminal legal system” that perpetuates slavery to the present day, according to the U.N. report.

@0x815 U.S. prisons are full of human rights abuses because they are intended to produce human rights abuses.
