@arstechnica It's almost like intentionally ingesting toxins is a bad idea.

@arstechnica

Can’t we all just get our mushrooms from a guy across town and eat them on a McD’s cheeseburger like it says in the bible?

@arstechnica you got Physalis alkekengi mixed up with Ashwagandha. The victims are most likely suffering from Chinese Lantern poisoning. This company is pushing " adaptogens". There are no psychedelics involved, but a member on the nightshade family.
From their site:
https://diamondshruumz.com/what-are-adaptogens-top-uses-and-benefits/

They're using Ashwagandha (winter cherry) in the mix that can be confused w/ the Chinese "winter cherry" (Chinese Lantern). Fucking sketchy website & company. Hope they're held accountable and none of the victoms lose their lives or incure severe health problems as a result (liver damage etc.) SMH.

@arstechnica Who micro doses chocolate?! If I am eating chocolate, it is European dark chocolate and it is not in a micro dose.

"The candy, said to be infused with mushrooms, has been linked to severe illnesses, including seizures, loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness, agitation, abnormal heart rates, hyper/hypotension, nausea, and vomiting, according to an outbreak alert released by the Food and Drug Administration on Friday."

Oh.

Micro dosing chocolate was never a good idea.

@arstechnica I assume it's one of those things where you're supposed to have one tiny square of chocolate, which isn't how people consume chocolate, so they're OD'ing because the delivery mechanism is unintuitive.
