@arstechnica Not much surprising about that, we knew Rush was someone who thought he was some innovator for whom rules and regulations prevent him and those like him (but mostly him) from truly transforming the world. Unsurprisingly, that sort of mindset runs rampant through the world of private submersibles for the ultra-rich, they and their clients consider themselves untouchable because they're too wealthy to be touched. The ocean doesn't care though.

@arstechnica My guess is that he probably thought money in his bank account will make him invincible. You know, "the main character never dies!" mentality.
