@arstechnica this seems good. I've been using proton for about a year now. Still get so much shit at Google and a lot of commerce sites block proton mail because it has alias options but I'm happy with it.

Worth noting that they do log IP addresses because they were legally compelled to do so. And also they don't encrypt email subject lines, so they can be legally compelled to provide that info.
@arstechnica I just moved to Proton a month ago. It's going to take years to get off Google but I'm more than willing to take the time and pay for the service
@arstechnica This is akin to how FOSS projects if done well have a trust-less system. Analogously, this is Proton ensuring that nothing can and will happen to it in the future as well as they grow to avoid bad actors, takeovers, and other bad things. We don't necessarily have to to trust Proton and it's management or change in leadership because this new system won't allow anything bad to happen to it in any way.
