The 2025 Polestar 4: Great steering and a small carbon footprint stand out

The styling is sharp inside and out, but the infotainment needs some polishing.

@arstechnica We presently have a Tesla - one with a squeaking front suspension due to a badly designed ball joint on the front wheels (the joint corrodes due to water leakage into the joint - a problem solved for decades on other brands of automobiles.)

We realize that buying an EV is really buying into a charging network, and Tesla's is by far the best charge network.

However, that will change.

We like Polestar - we invested in the company. (The stock is not doing well, however.)

Yeah, infotainment is nice - but anyone who thinks that it can be even close to the experience of a good home system is ignoring the facts of highway noise and the need for a driver to be able to hear things like sirens and horns. (I largely drive a convertible with the top down, so I know road noise in an extreme way.)

I love that reviewers HAVE to pick out something bad, and in EVs it's usually the "infotainment system."

The VW ID.4 gets terrible reviews for this, despite roominess, build quality, safety features, decent range, 3 years free charging, and other features not available at the same price elsewhere.

The infotainment system is just not that important. The transition from fossil fuels IS.
