A New York judge on Thursday denied Donald Trump’s request for a temporary delay of the penalties in E. Jean Carroll’s defamation case, leaving the former president three days to pay or post a bond for the entire $83.3 million judgment.

I understand if he hasn’t paid or posted bond by then, he will be unable to appeal this judgment, and Carroll’s attorneys can go after his assets directly. And how much time does he have left in the $450,000,000 judgment…? Trump’s real estate being seized and/or liquidated would be a sight

He can still appeal, but they can start enforcing the judgment by taking money from his accounts or otherwise seizing assets.

Pick one:

  • I’m above the law because I’m fabulously wealthy.
  • I can’t afford this.

If Trump is fabulously wealthy, then E. Jean Carroll has found an infinite money maker: sue Trump for libel, collect money, repeat. If not, then E. Jean Carroll has found a way to bankrupt Trump.
