The DOT regulated junk fees. Airlines are suing.

The CFPB capped credit card fees. Banks are suing.

Medicare is negotiating drug prices. Pharma is suing.

The FTC banned noncompetes. Business groups are suing.

Corporate America can't stand government working for the people.

Banning medical debt from credit reports.

Cracking down on junk fees.

Banning non-competes.

Capping credit card fees.

Negotiating drug prices.

Expanding OT pay.

These Biden policies don't make headlines, but this is what it looks like when government works for the people.

Convicted felon Donald Trump has succeeded in getting his three remaining criminal trials postponed indefinitely.

If he really thought he was innocent of the 54 remaining charges, don't you think he'd want the trials to happen before the election so he could clear his name?

OldMansBlues ,

@rbreich He won't win the election, so it's a futile exercise. The next 4.5 years will be more of the same whining from both sides of politics, with no real progress toward cohesion. All parties, right, left & centre, are on corporate payrolls, so I doubt we'll see any fundamental change. What I do however foresee is more people voting independent, which can only be a good thing

Office Hours: If Trump is found guilty, should Biden emphasize the guilty verdict or focus on abortion and democracy instead? https://robertreich.substack.com/p/office-hours-if-trump-is-found-guilty?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon

should talk about economics (a kitchen-table topic where he has done so well), abortion, and democracy... but keep throwing in references to his crimes. Put far more words to the important topics, but don't let his crimes go unmentioned.

Trump's voters will vote for him if he is in a prison cell for mass murder, caught on video.

The GOP loyals will vote for him whether they like him or not.

will not air complete sentences that criticize their orange Messiah, but will mention jabs and name-calling.

As usual, the will come down to the independent and swing voters. Focus on what they care about, then branch out from there. Repeated jabs at the criminal are all that's needed.

The news media has been covering the ad nauseum. Anyone with half a brain who cares knows that Trump is a criminal. needs to NOT be just another part of that white noise.

A new CBO report estimates that extending the Trump tax cuts for the next 10 years would add $4.6 trillion to the deficit.

Remember this the next time Republicans propose cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

The "party of fiscal responsibility" is full of it.

captainrob ,
@captainrob@mastodon.social avatar

@rbreich and where are the Biden tax raises? If Trump gets the credit for the tax cuts, where are the raises that Biden did to put us back to good or better? 4 years is all it took for Trump to lower taxes, why can't Biden do the reverse? Cause maybe it's a rigged system?

The FTC alleges that a major US oil exec colluded with OPEC to cut production and drive up prices.

Research found that Big Oil price fixing may have contributed to 27% of total inflation in 2021.

When I say corporate greed is driving inflation, this is what I mean.

Two years ago today, the Dobbs decision was leaked.

No matter how hard he tries, Donald Trump can’t sidestep his role in abortion being banned for millions.

In 2016 he pledged to remake the Supreme Court with nominees who would overturn Roe v. Wade.

He is directly responsible.

Writer Jay Kuo digs into just how nonsensical this claim is in a new piece for The Big Picture.
