House Freedom Caucus Threatens 'Reckless' Government Shutdown Unless Far-Right Demands Met ( www.commondreams.org )

In terms of the appropriations legislation for the next fiscal year, the HFC said in a statement Monday that “we remain committed to restoring the true FY 2022 topline spending level of $1.471 trillion without the use of gimmicks or reallocated rescissions to return the bureaucracy to its pre-Covid size while allowing for...

[Opinion - Legal Analysis] The Constitution bars Trump from holding public office ever again - Donald K. Sherman ( thehill.com )

While some on the right portray accountability for the Jan. 6 Capitol riot as just another partisan dispute, two prominent conservative legal scholars have made the case that the Constitution disqualifies former President Trump from public office....

Anticorp ,

Idk why this is treated as an opinion piece. This is an agreed-upon interpretation of the constitution. If he is found guilty, then he can’t be president. It’s not debatable.

I presented it as opinion because the article itself is an op-ed with a link back to the legal analysis. Just trying to follow the rules of the sub.

But I agree with you - it's not a real debate, as the other side has no argument other than "nuh uh!"

Yea he will get indicted again because he did more crimes.

He was telling people at his rally of lies that he just "needed one more indictment" for him to win the presidency in 2024. Going to jail for TRYING to defraud the US doesn't make you president.

They also have an email address so that you can make a GDPR request via email since the EU legislation gives you the right to do that, you shouldn’t be forced to use their platform to do that as otherwise it would be too easy for a company to lock you out of the process.

Here’s what Reddit’s privacy policy says:

[News] A Georgia judge has rejected former President Trump’s efforts to quash an investigation into his efforts to overturn the state’s 2020 election results. ( thehill.com )

“The movants’ asserted ‘injuries’ that would open the doors of the courthouse to their claims are either insufficient or else speculative and unrealized,” Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney wrote in the nine-page ruling.

I'm pretty impressed this occurred so quickly, I wonder if it was bots at all.

Look at the serif on that F, dang.

@genoxidedev1@kbin.social avatar

There were most certainly bots but I'm pretty sure (and I'm speaking from experience since I was there) that there were more than enough real people helping.

Especially the Germans were probably a driving force as usual and then there were the other communities that united on their Discord servers as well, I was part of one that had ~3k members I think (Fuck Spez Coalition 🫡).

News: Biden supporters exploit Republican’s $1 donation cashback campaign pledge: ‘I gave $1 to you and $20 to Biden’ ( www.independent.co.uk )

Republican presidential candidate and North Dakota Gov Doug Burgum is offering $20 gift cards to donors who give $1 to his campaign — but some supporters of Joe Biden say they have been funneling the gift card money to the president’s re-election campaign.

Well, that was kind of a dumb strategy to get donors.

They should also force him to prepay this time so they're not footing the entire bill again.

“Programs to address education, medical care, urban problems, rural poverty, transportation, Medicare, Medicaid, labor unions, and he still is working on it,” she said.

The White House immediately pounced on Ms Greene’s flattering description of Mr Biden’s efforts, writing on Twitter: “Caught us. President Biden is working to make life easier for hardworking families”.
