I haven't paid much attention since I left Texas but they have their hands tied somewhat by the legislation that makes them exist right?
They can't force power generation and what not.

I fled Texas last year. The politics are awful and the governor and his cronies go out of their way to fuck with the liberal cities.

ERCOT is barred from keeping the grid going by statute (maybe a bit of an antagonistic take) and I can't stand another 110 degree summer.

Sadly I moved to La by family and it is more of the same. Need to move north so at least I can escape the heat.

I feel like meeting that to a legal level is a stretch. Minor cost of living raises that don't meet inflation doesn't rise to that level in my uneducated understanding

I am not placing blame, just observing that News Companies still have staff and could be on the side of the Capitalists when it comes to worker rights.

Edit: I think I understand. I agree, not all staff writers (or any?) could be in a position to refuse the editor when they say "write me a piece on quiet quitting".

The sad part is I want a small space. But I also want a big yard to grow things and to live in the woods away from people.

Totally agree. I don’t think single family housing is really good or fair anymore. Hell I am not sure I even think humans can own a piece of land. I feel selfish for wanting to be able to buy a house.

True but other than sit down restaurants where do you tip after the service is rendered? I agree that it is just an added fee and we are just subsidizing capitalists.

I don’t know how to fix it though. Not tipping does nothing but hurt the workers.
