A “person” isn’t always a human. I care about humans, not whatever our current legal system calls a “person.”

Things are declared "persons" to confer them rights. Person in the OP wants a thing to be conferred rights but still own the profit gleaned from its labor (to the exclusion I should add of the rest of humanity).

Fag is a beautiful word which accurately describes me and 4/3 of my friends.

I'm all for kicking people who weaponize hate speech off of platforms but restricting the language marginalized groups can use to refer to themselves is contrary to the ends hardcoded banned word lists would seem to've been implemented to engender.

It isn't even one instance making that decision as I understand it—it's hardcoded into Lemmy (as opposed to kbin or whatever other options may exist).

And I said they are different procedures. Someone intending to die in a pod is not the same as attempting to force someone to die strapping a mask to their face.

A person in a suicide pod is cooperating with the process not biting and scratching for precious life, potentially causing oxygen to leak into the mask and cause excruciating suffering.

I am not saying it is immoral to kill prisoners so you shouldn't use this method (although I say now it is immoral to kill prisoners and you shouldn't ever do it by this or any other method).

I am saying this method does not work for executions and you can't use it for its intended end.
