I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe… Piss ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion… I watched Pee-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like piss in rain…

My favourite art from the first edition of Star Trek Adventures

Modiphius' Star Trek Adventures TTRPG is getting a second edition this year, and the last of the sourcebooks for first first edition has been published, so I thought I would go through the entire collection and share some of my favourite art from the game....

DISCO S5 has been phenomenal

Two episodes to go. I'm gutted this is going to be the end, just as the show truly found its stride and grew the beard. Feels a lot like the end of Enterprise. Every season has been better than the last, and the earlier episodes were pretty good. I recently started rewatching S1 after getting an IRL friend into it and he's...

I'm in the odd camp of believing the first season was the best. It was just so different. I didn't dislike the changes and was just happy to have something fresh on screen. I thought the klingons were great too.

Season 3 is my second favourite. Again, because it's was all new

Maybe yeah. But it was also a longer season with 16 episodes I think. I looked that there were quite a few stand alone episodes or mini arcs.

The Jeff Russo Klingon score is a work of art too

I enjoyed casually playing this and world of warships. But I immediately bugged out of warships as soon as the anime themed battleships started appearing. I could pretend I wasn't playing a freemium piece of shit until that moment. Now they have megadeth themed ships too. So dumb.

I am here to explain this once again. Neelix and Tuvok were dead. They died in a transporter accident. They died painlessly and unaware of their fate. Tuvix was not dead. Begged not to be killed. And was painfully aware of the fate they were forced to suffer.

It does not matter if you have a magic wand that can magic two people back for the cost of one other, she chose to kill someone, who was begging to her face to be spared. It is as simple as that. What other innocent people would you choose to kill in order to bring back others you deem more valuable? The closest parallel I can think of in the real world would be if someone bundled you off the street and explained that they were going to remove your heart to give it to Joe Biden as you are the best blood and tissue match, and because he is more important than you. You won’t survive this procedure but let’s be honest, Joe Biden is way more useful to the establishment than you, whoever you are.

The episode is great and I would never ask for it to be changed, it added a lot of depth to Janeway as a character, but it was also straight up murder.

All I know is that I would really have wanted to see it.

I mean, will this even effect him? Alex Jones had to pay a ludicrous high sum for all the sandy hook stuff he pulled and I’m not sure he’s paid a penny and he’s certainly still hovering around making a living.

They also have an empire with a large number of client species. Vulcan does not. If anything the romulans are more advanced than the Vulcans

Streamio is really good too (my sister in law uses it for everything). I think it is free too and the interface is really professional for what is essentially a torrent tool.

I think most people who install it know full well what they are doing and simply install it because it makes things a lot easier. They only reason I haven’t done it myself is I can’t be bothered atm.

If you are searching the internet for an application that lets you view just about everything for free, then you are well aware that you are sailing the high seas of piracy.

Ok, so you want the government to be the landlord as you have more trust in a government monopoly than in a market.

Yup. Basically. Although it is worth noting that the type of government we currently have, beholden to capital, is not trustworthy. Their priorities first and foremost are to serving corporate interests, which is probably why you trust them so little. Any power or public capital they are entrusted with gets pumped into private companies whose sole purpose is to make as much profit as possible for as little expenditure.

Any government brave enough to outlaw private landlords is going to have much more socially oriented priorities and will be much more inclined to serve the public good rather than the almighty market.

It makes me freak out about the inefficiencies too. We need to be reducing packaging, reducing logistics, reducing waste, and shrinkflation increases all these things. Capitalism is so single-mindedly awful I want to scream

Me and my mate were expecting Klingon opera, but the sound cloud rapping (or whatever) was so unexpected it really made us laugh. I think they played it really well and I’m not sure I’d want them to change it

What's a faction/group/alien race in Star Trek most similar to the Tech Priests / Mechanicus in Warhammer 40,000?

By that I mean that the basic premise being: that the means of (re)creating new technology is lost, the current technology around is treated as sacred and the function marred in elaborate rituals or prayers because they don’t know how to otherwise operate it, and to a lesser extent that new ideas or (often xenophillic)...
