Work from home makes it even better than listening to coworkers trying to chat you up when you are working. You can have "human contact" with them on optional outings with the team. A coworker isn't a friend, it's a colleague. They won't stand up for you when you get treated unfairly at work, they won't risk their job to save yours. So unless your "human contact" includes inappropriate stuff, I don't see any benefit to it over staying home with the family you love, cuddling pets and skipping a long daily commute.

Okay, but it is still jumping through hoops which doesn't exist with gas cars. What if I have 3 people driving, like in a road trip? You can't continuously drive after refueling anymore. It isn't just a perception thing, it absolutely requires planning and stops you wouldn't take otherwise.

Maalus ,

So what you are saying is "I don't care about the points you raised" essentially. I said specifically "hoops that don't exist with gas cars" not "gas cars don't have hoops to jump through". Electric cars have issues with trips longer than their range, which you then need to charge for a very long time compared to just refueling the gas car.

Intelligence is domain specific. Making crowns I feel very capable of. Keeping my bones though? Eeeeh

Maalus ,

That's not a basement problem, that's a location problem. Look for houses that are higher up than other houses, the water will flow down the hill and flood the people who didn't do that.

Maalus ,

So then your base floor floods

Looks to be thick / undiluted paint. A spray can is cheat-mode for painting stuff like this though.

Maalus ,

There isn’t, someone jumped the gun without even consulting the developers.

Also, you can get groceries and make your own dinner. Why would you ever go to a restaurant?

Going to a bar is most likely about the atmosphere, the people there, just as much as it is about the alcohol

Maalus ,

They can in TNG at least. There is an episode about people being cryogenically frozen in the past, because of uncurable illnesses. They unfroze them, and one dude ordered alcohol. He even said it was the best glass he has ever had.

Maalus ,

Sooo currently they are saving money playing multiple games that they most likely won’t replay in the future anyway.

Why the hostility if it’s a good deal for them? Just to own a game on the tiniest chance you’ll play it later? Or just rent till you find a game you like and will play multiple times, buy to own it and also play multiple other games on the pass.

Maalus ,

Sure. Until everyone buying up the game results in $200 copies for a 5 hour game since there are no alternatives and everyone was enabling it by buying bad games.

Slippery slope is a fallacy for a reason. There is no evidence of rent only games comming anytime soon, it’s just doomsaying.

Maalus ,

Yeah it is, you have no proof of the “rent only” future you are doomsaying about. Movies used to be mostly rented out, yet this hasn’t led to the “rent only” situation, quite the opposite.

Maalus ,

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof - you are the one claiming the “rent only” future is comming and that people should “just buy the game” instead of going for gamepass. I don’t have to debunk your insane claims, the burden of proof is on you.

Maalus ,

You haven’t provided proof. You just repeated your claims and expected people to react differently this time. I’ll just stop replying to this thread if you don’t mind. I dislike arguing with people who don’t have anything sensible to say.

Orville season 1 was space family guy. The next seasons were the best star trek we’ve gotten recently.
