Fuck resume scanners and the horse they rode in on. It is exhausting tailoring every resume to the job posting because you might get dinged if you don’t use exactly the same words as what the job description says.

Sharkwellington ,

Those responses from men are massively disappointing.

Sharkwellington ,

fuck you for continuing this narrative that violence against people you don’t like is ok.

They never said this.

I’m sure you’ll retort with him associating with fascists or providing kill lists (which is bullshit if you look into it) or being a “stochastic terrorist” (what the fuck even is that).

They never said this, and you’re REALLY gonna want to learn what stochastic terrorism is if you want to join intelligent conversation about modern politics.

It’s insane to me that your argument against Rogan is about not supporting anarchist guerilla warfare.

They never said this.

Sharkwellington ,

They were probably using definition 2 from Merriam-Webster.

b : to begin to eat (food) eagerly At the table he attacked his meal with such singleminded ferocity as to be, as Boswell put it, disgusting to those whose sensations were delicate.— Donald R. DeGlopper

5 chess : to threaten (a piece) with immediate capture

Sharkwellington OP ,

But keep an eye on that tailor.

Oh I forgot to talk about Garak! I really like how expressive he is, something about him reminds me a lot of Robin Williams. The bit where he tells Bashir to buy a suit at precisely 2055 and Bashir just totally doesn’t get it… I’m hoping the doctor grows on me but he’s probably my least favorite so far ha.

Union leaders demand change following Kroger employee death ( www.fox13memphis.com )

“Them guys said he was dripping in sweat. Them guys said that guy was asking for water,” said Teamster 667 Union Chief Maurice Wiggins. “He did walk to produce a couple of times to cool off, and that’s where he ended up passing at, in the produce section on the dock in front of all his coworkers.”

Sharkwellington ,

The union explained that workers get a 30-minute lunch break and 15-minute breaks every two hours. Leaders stressed that during extremely hot weather, they need more.

I hate that the heat is seen as something you can just tough out without proper breaks. A body can only take so much.

You seem to have stopped reading once you got through the headline and missed the entire article written afterwards.

Sharkwellington ,

Sure: Read the article and reassess what you think it’s about. I for sure didnt walk away with the same impression you did, but I could see why I would if I read the headline and headed straight to the comments section.

At least read the article before you criticize it, because it’s nothing like what you seem to think it is.

Sharkwellington ,

This dog would go to the ends of the earth to do it for you, beautiful eyes.

Sharkwellington ,

Fixed it. Wasn’t even hard. It’s not funny, but the original wasn’t either, so…

Sharkwellington ,

I decided to look into some context for this comic. It was published September 21st, 2013. The artist later added this text to the post:

WARNING! THE FOLLOWING COMIC IS INSENSITIVE AND CAN BE VERY UPSETTING.

HEY EVERYONE,

IN THE LAST YEAR I HAVE RECEIVED A LOT OF UPSET EMAILS ABOUT THIS COMIC. I HAVE BEEN VERY CONFLICTED ABOUT WHAT TO DO WITH IT. THE COMIC WAS MADE DURING A TIME WHEN I MYSELF WAS DEALING WITH MY OWN ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, AND TRAUMA FROM PAST ABUSE. HUMOUR AND CYNICISM BEING ONE OF THE ONLY STRATEGIES I KNEW HOW TO DEAL WITH SUCH THINGS. MANY OF THESE OLDER COMICS YOU WILL NOTICE HAVE A DARKER AND MEANER EDGE.

TIME HAS CHANGED THE COMIC AND ME. I’M STILL IMPERFECT AND I MAKE MISTAKES, BUT I AM WAY MORE EMPATHETIC AND KIND THAN I USED TO BE AND THAT IS REFLECTIVE IN THE COMIC NOW. THIS COMIC WHEN PLACED AGAINST MY CURRENT WORK IS VERY SHOCKING AND HURTFUL TO A LOT OF YOU AND I AM SORRY FOR THE PAIN THAT IT CAUSES. I WOULD NOT MAKE THIS KIND OF JOKE NOW, BUT IT IS PART OF THE ARC OF MY STORY. I AM LEAVING IT UP BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN BEING HONEST AND BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR OUR MISTAKES. IT ALSO ALLOWS US TO HAVE HARD CONVERSATIONS WHICH ARE WHAT ULTIMATELY LEAD TO GROWTH.

I AM TRULY SORRY FOR THE HURT THIS COMIC CAUSES ANYONE. I NEVER THOUGHT AS A YOUNGER PERSON THAT A JOKE INVOLVING POKING A HOLE IN A CONDOM WITH A STAR WARS TOY WAS ASSUALT OR RAPE, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE ABUSE I SUFFERED SEEMED SO MUCH WORSE. I KNOW BETTER KNOW AND I AM SORRY.

I AM OPEN TO CONTINUING THIS CONVERSATION IF YOU WOULD LIKE or IF YOU JUST WANT TO VENT OR BE ANGRY WITH ME, THAT IS OK AS WELL. I WILL BE THERE TO LISTEN. HERE IS MY EMAIL: [email protected]

All the best,

CHRIS

So here’s my take: This comic is almost ten years old. The artist has already realized it was a mistake and apologized for it. Maybe OP wasn’t aware, as I was not, but now we both are, so let’s not stir shit any further.

Sharkwellington ,

Is it not a hassle having so many batteries and chargers or are you wired?

Sharkwellington ,

Absolutely agreed that the battery situation is stupid and creating a lot of waste. Unfortunately I don’t think these companies are going to willingly give up the cash-cow that is proprietary batteries and chargers, along with the sunk-cost customer base they maintain with it, unless they’re forced to. It’s a shame other countries don’t protect consumers with as much vigor as the EU.
