I was using a thimble when I did that. The needle popped through the thin metal of the thimble, through my finger, and hit the inside of the thimble on the other side. I couldn’t remove the thimble, I tried but the needle was locking it on my finger. I had to pull the needle out through my finger, then remove, by which time the thimble was full of blood…
I understand what pon farr is, but where is the photo from? Which is the original? When was it taken and why? Is the original negative/print held by a particular organisation?
I can’t figure it out. It isn’t huge, but it’s heavy. Specs are 9 x 2 x 12 inches - 1.52 pounds. And it’s totally smooth on the back. Nowhere to put a hook. Has anyone figured out a way to do it?...
Student names that really exist in my local area: “L-A” (pronounced “Elldashah”) and Hazmat (shortened to Mat). Not had a Bobby Tables yet, but getting that dash into Eldashahs name was a difficult task, I am told.
How odd you think that. She was on my roll call for a term (high school). I am not going to tell you which school, as doxing a student is wrong, so I guess Elle is going to have to remain a myth for you.
Went to watch the next generation before bed and it won’t pull up any of the episodes or continue where I left off. Instead it shows the extras tab and related shows and about.
What a foul website. My adblockers aren’t up to the task. What is the eventual conclusion of the article? It is impossible to get past all the popups, and the video autoplaying was the last straw.

American toilets are just weird. Why do they need to evacuate into an overful lake like that? Always seems so wasteful, putting 50 litres of water into each flush too.
Water usage per flush here in Australia is significantly lower. And yet the system is cleaner and more reliable. I had never even seen a plunger until my first US visit; We don’t need them here because our toilets work, unlike the huge American toilets which clog and require too much water.
They’re oval here too, but don’t require all that extra water, a lake in every flush. I think you mistead overfull? And I had never seen a real plunger in Australia, we don’t ever need them. Our toilets just work.
As an Aussie, I don’t see why that is unusual. You use your feet. But if it’s only two icecreams, then you hold them both in one hand and swim with the other one. All I can say about this one though is that this is a very flat beach: Waves would ruin the icecream pretty bloody fast.
Swimming with something that can’t get wet is not unheard of here. I sometimes swim a book over to somewhere to read, or a phone to a good place for a photo too.

Does anyone here have the Eaglemoss Enterprise D dedication plaque? If so, did you figure out a way to mount it on the wall? ( lemmy.world )
