Sadly I have neither of these things available on hand to test that theory but I can at least confirm that the abrasive wheel is a ceramic alumina.

Actually NVM, I found a laser pointer and it has no effect, though it is admittedly quite dim.

We also use emery paper to smooth out rough surface finishes on machined parts. None of my tools but some of the tools the other guys have in the shop use little Ruby beads as reference surfaces. Our wire EDM also uses Ruby for some critical parts.

It’s not uncommon to be standard practice to filter out anyone who’s over qualified because they tend to get bored, and they’ll ask for a lot more than less qualified candidates will.

They’re looking at trends, not individuals. Individuals don’t matter to them.

It is but Google doesn’t directly employ these workers. They’re subcontracted through another firm. Don’t get me wrong I hope they get everything they’re demanding, but I’m not sure Google has any legal obligation, or even the ability to make changes to their contract.

The employees are not contractors, but it looks like they work for a firm which has been hired by Google. Reading a little further it does look like NLRB has found that Google is considered a joint employer and would be obligated to bargain. Which they’re not doing, I guess hoping for an appeal to go their way.

Throw all your weight behind the Democrats if you like, it will only delay an inevitable descent to the fascist religious hegemony the Republicans clearly want. The current state of the DNC is such that no meaningful legislation is possible, no leftward progress will happen.

The game is rigged against you. The ruling class like it that way. As long as you’re in the working class, if you’re playing by the rules they’ve set it for you, you’re playing to lose.
