They seemed like good quality and great designs, but I could never swing $30-50 for a glorified Micromachine to put on my shelf. I'm jelly of people who have them, though!

I'm thinking it looks moldy, but I'm far from an expert.

Your post is not deleted, or at least my app (Connect for Android) still shows it to me. I would point out, however, that Google photos shows your real name, which you may not have intended.

I think we might be too niche for Lemmy’s population still; there’s basically been no content.

Honestly the first one I remember was the VCR board game! EXPERIENCE BIJ! boardgamegeek.com/…/star-trek-next-generation-int…

I have played the heck out of ST:Armada and some of Elite Force 1. There was a really bad WII game too, whose name I forgot.

Why do many microwave ovens hum in an interval of a minor 7th?

Something that I’ve noticed across most of the microwave ovens that I’ve used is that when they hum while cooking food, I can pick out 2 distinct tones. One of them is pretty clearly 60 120 hz, the 2nd harmonic of the AC power frequency. The other is consistently a minor 7th above that (which would be somewhere around...

Interesting. I saw mostly 38Hz, 117, and 240. 100W LG microwave on US 60Hz with an audible fan.

Great for reheating leftovers, if it has a good humidity sensor.

I’ve never seen someone use Deciliters before! Love it. Disclaimer: I live in either the USA, Myanmar, or Liberia.

Looking for Movies that Showcase Positive Masculinity

Hey there, fellow movie enthusiasts! I’m on the hunt for films that portray positive masculinity. We often see movies with traditional, stereotypical portrayals of masculinity, but I believe there’s a world of cinema out there that can challenge these norms and offer a fresh perspective....

The books are fantastic too. Highly recommended. If you like audiobooks, I prefer the ones narrated by Patrick Tull.

Do you prefer audiobook, softcopy, or hardcopy?

I’ve circumnavigated the audiobooks with Patrick Tull quite happily, and only recently picked up the first book (and #8 FSotW) at the used book store because I want to represent my shipmates on my bookshelf. I’m a big reader generally, but hadn’t read this series because I pretty much only buy my books at the used book...

Great! I liked Patrick Tull’s version, but Simon Vance is also appreciated, as you see from the other comment. I think I heard there is another narrator now too?

clay_pidgin OP ,

I give you joy of your travels. Which hard cover did you get? Not the Folio Society, I imagine?

clay_pidgin OP ,

You jest, but they do make audio books in the format of preloaded MP3 players. I’ve checked some out of the library. (not this series)

clay_pidgin OP ,

I’ve considered trying Vance, but having finished Tull I think it would feel strange to hear different voices for the characters. I didn’t choose a narrator consciously; I think Tull was just what I found on Audible.

clay_pidgin OP ,

Understandable! I will say that, if the King’s yards aren’t providing what you need to continue your voyage, there’s already the option to go privateer. It’s not something I’ve really done, but there it is.

I can relate to the bad eyesight for sure.
