Respecting pronouns is very simple. It's the Golden Rule and basic respect. Or was until the right decided to add it to their culture war, which isn't about culture - it's about dominance and political power.

Would Donny Trump have bothered to attend his youngest son's graduation, if he hadn't tried to use it as an excuse to skip a day of his criminal trial in NY? Or would he have slept in? Asking for a friend.

Remember when RFK Jr. seemed like a real contender against Biden? Now, it seems like Trump and his team are worried about RFK Jr.'s appeal to their voting base. With RFK Jr. potentially siphoning off votes from Trump, the dynamics of the 2024 election are shifting. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/rfk-trump-biden-election-spoiler

Taking votes from Donny Trump would be the only good thing RFK Jr has done in years.

CBS finally outdoes NBC's 1968 airing of Heidi, in lieu of the final few minutes of the Raiders - Jets game.

Ginni Thomas was directly involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Yet Clarence Thomas didn't recuse himself from arguments today in a case about the January 6 insurrection.

How is this not a scandal of epic proportions?

@rbreich

Ginny Thomas's involvement in attempting to overturn the 2020 election followed her 2000 effort on behalf of the CheneyBush transition team - and much in between and since.

Excuse me but how is Louis DeJoy still postmaster general?

His destructive 10-year plan for the Post Office—slowing mail delivery, hiking prices for consumers, and speeding up privatization—is in full effect.

Hello?

huntingdon ,
@huntingdon@mstdn.social avatar

@rbreich

Louis DeJoy should be no closer to running the entire Post Office than being a sub-postmaster in Gnome.

DeJoy wants to privatize the USPS to get at its real estate, and to remove a competitor of the private sector. He's an enemy of public service. His work as a government employee should be terminated.

Any truth from Lindsey is breaking news. He correctly associated election interference with Trump's first criminal trial. He misidentifies the party who allegedly committed election interference. It's Trump.

But that's Lindsey. Whatever skeletons Lindsey has in his closet are rattling to come out. Perhaps he would be harder to manipulate if they did.

J.K. Rowling is the one who owes the world an apology. Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson owe her no apology for their support of LGBTQ+ rights.

If Rowling feels entitled to scream that she will "never forgive" them for being mature human beings, instead of acting puppets, she's the one who might benefit from a long visit to Azkaban.

Office Hours: Should parents be criminally responsible for a child who kills? https://robertreich.substack.com/p/office-hours-what-responsibility?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon

huntingdon ,
@huntingdon@mstdn.social avatar

@rbreich

Should parents be held responsible when their child kills? Depends on what they did to contribute to it.

Have they one or several guns at home, but fail to teach children about gun safety, fail to lock it properly, portray it as an easy tool to use to respond to social grievance? Use them as props for their greeting cards? Ignore behavioral signs that indicate alienation and willingness to act out violently? It's a long list.
