Yes it can be extended but apps would need to be upgraded to make use of the new data flowing around. If they see an activity type they don't understand they'll just ignore it.

Expecting every different platform to all move in lockstep is not feasible so a situation where some support downvotes but some do not is going to have to be part of the process. Even if it was just kbin to kbin initially, that'd still be an improvement.

Fediverse dating app? ( kbin.social )

This is just a thought I had that I wanted to bounce off people who know more about ActivityPub/the fediverse— would it be feasible (and would it make sense) to build an open-source, ActivityPub-compatible dating app as an alternative to Tinder/Bumble/etc.? And if so, what could that look like? Obviously the small userbase...

It's been a while since I set it up but I think it starts working automatically when you connect your Google Calendar to the Calendar in Thunderbird.
