Marianne Williamson needs to have a seat. That response was classy because the Costco reps clearly said they were disappointed in themselves as management for dropping the ball, not in the workers who voted to be heard, and invited workers to talk to managers about concerns any time. The alternative reply she suggested didn’t include any such recognition of shortcomings by Costco.

mateomaui ,

I didn’t get any such impression from the Costco response. I got they were disappointed that one was considered necessary due to their management failure.

Oh for the love of the god I don’t believe in, by every measure this is an exceptional response relative to every other company dealing with unions being formed. Some of you were born to be unhappy.

edit: someone else replied here but I cannot see it. Sorry I apparently blocked you for being annoying or whatever.

mateomaui ,

Same could be said for you, keep crying about it.

mateomaui ,

I’m sorry they didn’t word it to your exact liking.

mateomaui , (edited )

Ok, it’s good that you’re happy with their response.

I still think Williamson’s response is asinine.

And I see this part of their statement as being supportive of the union

and that their main regret is failure to address needs before one was needed.

edit: as far as I’m concerned, Williamson’s reply is only relevant because she’s up for election and thought being critical would win her points. That’s it.

mateomaui ,

Just so you know, writing increasingly longer replies doesn’t sway me. I didn’t bother with most of that.

mateomaui ,

“has never been the result of any union” is simply them stating that they try to make efforts to be responsive to employees without the need for a union in the first place. That’s it. They didn’t discourage unions in the statement.

Now I’m back to “I’m sorry they didn’t word it to your exact liking.”

Now, seriously, I have other things to do today than argue about wordsmithing to make Marianne happy.

mateomaui ,

Cool story, my opinion remains the same. Now I’m blocking your own ignorance, bye.

mateomaui , (edited )

What’s asinine is that I’m likely your senior by at least a couple of decades and am well aware of unions, how they operate, and how companies react to them, and yet I don’t block more of you shitheads. I’ve been around the block long enough and have worked in enough industries to appreciate how different this reaction from Costco management was, even if many of you are too jaded to acknowledge it. But keep acting like you’re educating someone if it makes you feel better. My opinion remains the same.

edit: and now that I think about it, you’re probably also block-worthy, so you can join him.

mateomaui ,

So how does one hire their services? Asking for a country.

mateomaui ,

Just keep uploading Ken Paxton’s face.

mateomaui ,

lol that really is the article title, I love you, Bess Levin.

Comer: Democrats will interrupt him and his fellow Republican colleagues with fact-checks.

Ah, I see the problem. Facts.

Homelessness would skyrocket because landlords don’t give a fuck.

mateomaui ,

That’s still homelessness. Sheltered, but homeless.

Maybe?

The WGA says writers of streaming features should see a minimum compensation increase of 18 percent, provided that film was budgeted at least $30 million, plus a 26 percent increase in residual base.

“gym-owner-turned-“

yeah, makes sense

mateomaui ,

Some of you got me wanting to watch OfficeSpace for the first time in years.

Damn it feels good to be a gangster.

My understanding is that whenever someone you follow on mastodon makes a post, in kbin it shows up under Microblogs in the “random” magazine… I think… which is here:

kbin.social/m/random/microblog

but maybe you can narrow that down by using the “subscribed” filter? Maybe? (edit: yes, appears that’s how to do it, select the subscribed filter and then the microblogs tag for kbin.social/sub/microblog to see just who you’re following.)

I think things only show up in other magazine microblogs if someone on kbin specifically posts one to that magazine.

Still working things out myself. But it’s probably better to have a separate mastodon account and appropriate app to keep up with those posts and ignore the Microblogs tab because for some reason all comments are always expanded. Again, I think.

edit: correction already, it looks like everyone posting on Mastodon shows up in the random microblog, whether you follow them or not.
