“But they create jobs.” Build something else. Schools, parks, trains, housing, etc.

I’ll never get the jobs argument.

Our infrastructure, healthcare, education, housing and about a thousand other things are fucked and would create jobs if we pumped 100s of billions of dollars into solving them.

This is why I don’t leave one star reviews as a part of a group.

Even if the spam detector doesn’t flag it, there’s often going to be some kind of back room deal going on with review hosters and rich “one star” victims.

Do two stars and list the “acceptable” reasons why. Don’t mention anything that can be removed as a part of a “brigade cleanup”.

Oh you had a completely legit review but ended with “f*** spez”? Guess what, the Reddit community manager can flag it and ask for it to be removed.

This feels like one of two things;

1- Their threats aren't actually working, and they don't have enough quality mods to replace the ones they've overthrown (as evidenced by subs where the mod teams were nuked remaining frozen)

2- PR move to pretend like they're listening and reduce anger.

Seriously, what is the point of this attempt AFTER they've nuked so many mods and users?

Edit: I feel like this comment is right on the money

wasure_boshi

better yet, they will listen but only in "small groups" of people "they pick" as to curate the the overall mod "response" and then will claim that all mods across all communities will share this same slated opinion.

Watch.

Wisconsin billionaires quietly bankroll effort to shrink state’s social safety net ( wausaupilotandreview.com )

Republican lawmakers held a day of back-to-back public hearings in mid-April for bills that would add restrictions to receiving unemployment insurance payouts, ban local guaranteed income programs and prevent state agencies from automatically renewing low-income health insurance.

Idaho opts out of nearly $15 million that would feed children this summer. Why? ( www.idahostatesman.com )

Idaho has decided not to participate in a federal program that would have provided $14.8 million to feed low-income students during the summer, a decision that impacts about 123,000 children in need, according to the Food Research and Action Center.

Hi Ernest, any thoughts on whether kbin will be federating with threads or not?

DoucheAsaurus ,
@DoucheAsaurus@kbin.social avatar

I understand your point but you also have the freedom to just go join threads yourself without the rest of us having to deal with the nonsense that it will bring here to kbin. I honestly don't see how this could end up a net positive for the verse.

Hey, a month ago I would have simply pressde the button and not thought too much about it. Now the situation looks completely different. I have bookmarked all the discussions I came across, and next week I will read every single post to have a complete picture. I owe you that.

However, we need to think about additional privacy features, as priorities have drastically changed in recent weeks, and I will have to carefully consider that. Now that I have dealt with infrastructure issues, I will focus on the most important matters.

While I absolutely appreciate the commitment, you do not owe us that. You don't owe us anything really.

If you want to have a discussion, I suggest maybe you could make a thread where it's discussed officially, rather than you having to go through everything that has been written all over the place. We owe that to you. :)

The Supreme Court May Preemptively Ban a Federal Wealth Tax ( newrepublic.com )

In a Wall Street Journal op-ed published in 2021, two of the Moores’ lawyers also declared unambiguously that the lawsuit “stands to slam shut the door on a federal wealth tax like the one Sen. Elizabeth Warren wants to enact.” They made a direct pitch to “the courts” to hear the Moores’ case “now” to make it...
