The Supreme Court's "code of ethics" has no enforcement mechanism and no way for the public to lodge complaints of misconduct.

SCOTUS Justices are being allowed to police themselves, which they've already proven they can't do.

Is it any wonder why Americans don't trust them?

soundconjurer ,
@soundconjurer@mstdn.social avatar

@rbreich , I don't like or trust any politician. There's no way someone gets in their position without shiving everyone else along the way. We see it what it looks like everyday as our resources become harder to acquire so the corporate class can add another piece of paper to their pile.

Present company not excluded.

Long-term Wegovy study finds weight loss plateaus a little after a year

It's still unclear how long people will have to stay on the drugs to maintain the effects.

The CFPB set a rule limiting credit card late fees to save American families ~$10 billion/yr.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce sued to stop it.

Republicans in Congress are trying to kill it.

The government is tackling junk fees, and corporate interests couldn't be more upset.

Donald Trump has violated the gag order placed on him during his NY trial ten times so far. If he keeps violating it, what should Judge Juan Merchan do?

soundconjurer ,
@soundconjurer@mstdn.social avatar

@rbreich , what he should do appears to not going to be the thing he is going to do. Trump's wrist is going to be a little bit more pink at the end of this trial.

@arstechnica When the poor have no money left, whom are these corporations going to sell to anyways? 3teeth's Slum Planet perfectly describes our society. LLMs are wholly a waste of resources, their expectations far exceed their capabilities, and their results are mediocre. We're left with shit job, shit pay, and sycophants willing to do anything to keep the status quo.
