LLMs are wholly a waste of resources, their expectations far exceed their capabilities, and their results are mediocre. We're left with shit job, shit pay, and sycophants willing to do anything to keep the status quo.
Entirely unrelated to the purpose of your article, any idea what the image comes from? The best I can find is a Getty image that says it's "from" 2020 and I know that's not right, because I've seen a rotoscoped version of this existing all the way back into the 1990s, but since AI has ruined all ability to search the only thing I'm finding for it are people selling metal etched versions of it as $200 wall art.
@arstechnica it's less about safety but access to data harvested for domestic spying. If they gave a damn about their claimed goal, corporations wouldn't be allowed near the table, much less crafting the conversation.
