If you ever worked shifts and transitioned to a 9 to 5 job, how difficult was the change?

I’m a nurse working shifts and sometimes 5 days without a pause and I still don’t know if I’m gonna take one of the 2 9 to 5 jobs my hospital system has offered. I’d earn less money, but I’m already 45 years old and I don’t know if I should call it quits and settle for a regular job 5 days a week and free weekends...

I worked shifts as an operator in a chemical plant. Took the opportunity to work days about 15 years ago (was about 35 years old then), never had a problem with it. I didn't make any less money because of it, because the 9-5 job was a somewhat promotion. Pro's were for me being all weekends off, like all the people I know. cons were less off time between. Biggest pro; get to be around my kids at more regular times. But it really depends on the jobs.

Private Equity Firm Bought My Employer

It was majority employee-owned before the acquisition but is now majority owned by private equity firm. The main change I'm noticing is that everyone is being pressured to work uncompensated overtime (we're all on salary here) and requests for training/professional development have been all but eliminated. They also initially...

You forgot that besides the patents sell-off, they'll sell just anything the company owns to another company owned by them, just to lease everything back so the company can accumulate dept. In the same trend work gets sent to sub-contractors owned by them, and consultants get hired to make sure the value of the company rises because they invest in getting better at whatever.

Also, If most off these things don't happen at your company, then all value is allready extracted and only the depts will pile up until bankruptcy.

I meant debt indeed. And as long as the company survives, nobody is going to investigate where the cash is flowing. If it does go bankrupt, someone might. The question is, who is going to pay for the investigation to prove the wrong doing?

Workers who receive 11 to 15 days of PTO each year are more likely to use up their days, Rodney says, but there's a significant drop-off once people get 16 or more days.

And here I am, thinking my 30 days are too little.

zout ,

I can, and I do most years.

It could be shrinking, I usually mud it, let it dry and then mud again to prevent this.

Employment nearly doubled from 37% to 66%, and job quality dramatically increased with greater employee benefits coverage: retirement plans nearly tripled, and life and disability insurance participation showed considerable improvements. Moreover, the ability to cover expenses was consistently boosted, and the savings rate among families with children leapt from 0% to 42%.

If this helps with all of that, how do they prevent companies from pricing it in?

I was confused, teef is the Dutch word for bitch (as in female dog).

Weird shower leak. Advise needed. ( photofed.world )

We have a standing shower with a strange leak. It was built with a small tiled wall/step that the frame-less glass shower wall panel sits on. I noticed water pooling outside the door after a shower. At first I thought it was the door seal but upon closer inspection it is coming out of the grout. See pics (right where the arrow...

I would try removing the caulking around the shower pan and redo it. If that doesn't fix it, basically I would rebuild the whole shower. It looks like water might flow beneath the flooring here, which might cause a lot of problems in the future.

Also, I cant see it well in your pictures, but I've found in past remodelling projects that the best way to make showers leak free, is to first place the shower pan and then do the wall tiles, so the tiles are slightly above the pan.
