His trial is already overdue, especially compared to the many already convicted J6 insurrectionists.

Everyone in the world who has ethics and morals want that too

Everybody but Trump wants the trials before the election. :)

You’d think if he was innocent he’d want to clear his name before voting too!

xc2215x , to Politics in Analysis: A Quick Guide to Justice Clarence Thomas’s Ethics Scandals

He hasn't been the most ethical that is for sure.

The conservative justice, who has come under scrutiny for his failure to disclose such gifts, took at least 38 vacations, 26 private jet flights, eight flights by helicopter, a dozen VIP passes to sporting events, as well as stays at luxury resorts in Florida and Jamaica, the nonprofit news site reports. ProPublica notes that Thomas appears to have broken the law by failing to disclose flights, cruises and sports tickets.

So what happens now? Who is going to hold this unethical POS accountable for blatantly abusing his position?

I'm not sure what can be done besides packing the court, given that impeaching a federal judge requires a 2/3 senate majority, as well as the majority of the house. Republicans are not going to hold their own accountable.

No one is above the law, unless they show his honor a good time first. Well that's a fatal flaw in the system if there ever was one. Justice Clarence Thomas, marionette of the ultra wealthy. What an embarrassing legacy.

Wondering why we don't call it bribe when legal experts do it.

Sunforged , to Politics in How Nancy Pelosi’s Long Game Led to Trump’s Indictment

Who cares? She is no better for American working people than Trump is. It was democratic leadership and their decades long failure to the working class that gave us Trump. They don’t get to be lionized for the long and ugly clean up.

How long until Pelosi loses her mind like Feinstein or has a mini-stroke like McConnell? Can we put her insider trading profits to a general strike fund when it happens? Asking for a friend.

AnaGram , to Politics in How Nancy Pelosi’s Long Game Led to Trump’s Indictment

The only game being played is “place a hold” on stock that will be affected by Congressional decisions

I was thinking the same thing. “Did she fund it with her insider trading?”

CoffeeAddict , to Politics in Are Democrats Tricking Republicans Into Nominating Trump?

I sure hope not.

I am not sure about others, but I am not comfortable with ANY possibility of Trump winning back he White House. Any support for him is dangerous and reckless.

Supporting him is only going to fuel the conspiracy theories he endorsed & started. These lies have shaken the trust in US institutions, especially with his base. His first loss resulted in him lying and causing instability. They actually stormed the capitol! That did not even happen during the US Civil War! If he loses again it will be no different.

Furthermore, any continued support is legitimizing his claims that he is being “unfairly targeted” or that the left is engaging in a “witch hunt” against him. What will his supporters do if he is jailed? What happens if he wins from jail!? Will there be violence? Probably.

And if he actually wins the White House again, what will happen? Now there is an actual traitor to the nation in the White House! I would be shocked if that didn’t also cause violence and instability! The amount hopelessness that would cause would surely create instability and a serious lack of trust in the United States and its institutions.

TL DR: Any support for Trump is going to cause instability, violence, and a constitutional crisis! I understand the Democrats think they can beat him again - and hopefully they can - but I would sleep a little better knowing he was completely off the table.

spaceghoti OP ,

Have no fear, it’s not happening. The problem here is that the Republicans have a problem with Trump, and they’re not willing to accept responsibility for creating that problem. So they’re blaming Democrats, as always.

What is this non sense

Sharpiemarker ,

Lol thank fuck someone said it.

As someone who has never voted for a Republican and never will, I can honestly say the Democratic party doesn’t trick anyone into anything. That’s some next-level political strategy and we don’t even do basic strategy, like focusing on our brand/image/messaging/consistency/opposition research/etc.

Unfortunately the Democratic party has become the Mayo party; it’s inoffensive and you can put it on anything. We’re the margarine party. People vote for Democrats because the alternative is Fascism.

Chainweasel , to Politics in Are Democrats Tricking Republicans Into Nominating Trump?

Why in the living fuck would we do that?

spaceghoti OP ,

Because Republicans can never accept accountability for their own actions. So they’re always going to blame us.
