I don’t have business before the supreme court but I sure as hell have an interest in their rulings. We all do! That’s such a BS defense they and others make.
Our owners and their paid managers in the Courts, in the Congress, and both major parties have reached the point where rhetorical defense is no longer relevant.
We’ve reached the “So what if I did? Want to cry about it?” stage of this collapse.
You see it everywhere. Corporations used to do damage control after mass layoffs, now they literally insult the employees on the way out the door and brag about their cruelty on the money shows.
The small sect of our society that are in the country club no longer fear consequences, and for good reason, as they’ve captured any governmental bodies that would earnestly seek or inflict them. And if that fails, they still have legions of deluded, self-hating peasants ready to protect their own oppressors out of the sunk cost fallacy.
It's probably an unpopular opinion but I'm going to say it anyway. Trump needs brought to justice and this country needs a "come to jesus moment." As shitty as it sounds, I don't see a way forward WITHOUT violence. Trump is a symptom, not a cause. He just managed to push things harder and faster than those before. Something is going to come to a head, and it's not going to be pretty, but I don't think we as a country can truly heal until that happens.
Consider that my $0.02 after drinking on a Friday night, lol.
Agreed. And if they try to pull a J6 in 2025, they're going to find out what the government does to insurrectionists when they don't have an idiot in the whitehouse putting their thumb on the scale.
We hope. There are a frightening number of Trump supporters still in positions in our government that could end up backing a second insurrection. Look at all (literally all) of the Secret Service messages from on or about January-6. Oh wait, you can't because every single agent erased their phones and the servers on which those messages were stored. An that was after they were told to retain those messages. How many people still in positions of power would, either discretely or overtly, support a second insurrection?
MAGA cultists attempting terrorist attacks is the least of our worries. They have already demonstrated their abject incompetence in armed combat.
More worrying is what will happen if Trump wins the election. He has a pretty good chance of doing so, because the election is rigged in his favor. He only barely lost in 2020, it’s a miracle that he did, and relying on repeated miracles is a very poor survival strategy…
Let’s get it the fuck over with then. This thing where they just keep throwing a giant fit and threatening a civil war needs to end, and they’ve been extraordinarily clear that they won’t let it end peacefully unless we let them dismantle our democracy and that’s not an option.
I'm not worried in the slightest. I really don't mind if some idiots want to take themselves out of circulation. Like the guy who shot an FBI office in Ohio for Trump and was shot dead by police. One less Convicted Sex Offender Treason Trump voter.
They usually just get themselves killed by law enforcement professionals which takes them out of circulation. I'm just saying nobody needs to be scared of these idiots. There are dozens of things more likely to kill you than a Crybaby Trump idiot. So be "concerned" if you wish to, but be more concerned about heart disease killing you. Looking at facts and statistics is indeed great reasoning.
They don’t tend to be killed by the cops until after they’ve already hurt someone else.
Not the last 2 guys. One guy shot the side of an FBI building. The other guy issued threats and then started a gun battle when the cops came. In both cases the cops got a clean kill. Don't be afraid of Crybaby Trump idiots. They are way more likely to kill themselves than you.
Well it's a good strategy for them. Look at all the middle eastern countries that have had their governments undermined and destroyed through US military might. Who fills the power vacuum in those countries now? Religious zealots.
