I would be very excited to explore the in-game locations. Hopefully feel really immersed in the universe! And as /u/[email protected] mentioned, I hope it will be possible to solve conflicts through diplomacy. That has always been Star Trek's biggest draw for me, that it isn't just about combat and fighting.
God I've been so excited about this! Me and my fiancé love to play story focused games together and deep dive into our choices... We also love to watch Star Trek together. We watched all of DS9, SNW, and LD together (and not quite all of the others but we've at least started each series). This is a perfect merge of what we're doing! A good Star Trek story focused game!
Ever since I saw that it was launched I was excited! Then I saw it was an epic store exclusive and was sad... THEN I saw it was coming to steam and I was excited again!
I can't properly explain how much I want to sit with my fiancé and argue over which dialogue option is best
I have absolutely been waiting for this to be released to Steam.
Finding games that I can share with our teens on Steam is challenging but important for keeping connected. So, we’re often looking for games that appeal to more than one of us. When we buy it’s 2, 3 or 4 keys. Having one for free to start would be great.
Resurgence really looks to offer the kind of role playing that makes sharing the journey in parallel fun.
I've always loved Star Trek and had a blast with Elite Force. I'm really excited for Resurgence because it looks like it's going to have a much deeper story. Can't wait to explore the USS ship and see all the new features!
I watched that one last night and had the same thought - she's been the face of nonacceptance towards Data and although Bruce Maddox is far more extreme in his views it seemed like a waste of her character building.
That said, they'd already shoehorned in a Guinan scene so I don't know where they'd find the time.
Picard's scene with Guinan was not in the original script. Melinda M. Snodgrass was told that they needed a "Ten-Forward" scene to accommodate Whoopi Goldberg coming in that week.
I took it as true, although I had a quick go at finding where this claim came from and am drawing a blank
I think obvious that she would have sided with Maddox and disagreed with the ruling. I don't think her capable of overcoming her prejudices against artificial life forms.
I think that's something that gets forgotten. Season 2 gets skipped through a lot during rewatches I know. All anyone remembers is her being racist to data.
She starts out mean to Data but she comes around by the end of the season. She is also a former lover of Kyle Riker, which could have made for a much more interesting dynamic for and with Riker if it had continued.
Pulaski had interesting dynamics with almost every other character. I think she was written very well, especially for such a short tenure. Crusher was largely neglected by the writers.
I agree. And its a real shame. I also remember seeing Pulaski sitting in the chair next to Picard relatively often where I think of Crusher being in the medical bay far more. That could just be my own memory though.
I am somewhat neutral on her, when she was introduced I kind of felt she was a gender swapped bones to setup the bones / spock dynamic but with data.
Sadly the only thing I remember her for is being mean to data, getting rapidly aged, and replacing Picard’s heart, that is 3 out of 22 episodes she is credited in.
For me Crusher vs Pulaski somewhat comes down to bedside manner/ compassion. Pulaski just comes across as a bit blunt and prickly at times and Pulaski just has fewer memorable episodes due to only having the one season.
