If not the most imaginative, certainly the most inspiring, and it evokes a strong insertion in our reality.

Is Threshold worse than Code of Honor?

I'd say it's worst. Being racist is horrible, but it wasn't until "Threshold" that ST became actively and willingly stupid.

Dr. Pulaski Appreciation Post ( startrek.website )

I don't know whether it's a popular opinion or not, but I think Dr. Pulaski was a great character and I found her much more interesting than Dr. Crusher. I don't know if it was down to the writing or the performance but Pulaski is one of the best parts of season 2 and I would have been happy to see her character continue....

I think obvious that she would have sided with Maddox and disagreed with the ruling. I don't think her capable of overcoming her prejudices against artificial life forms.

The sitcom The Rikers as pitched by Sirtis and Frakes would have been better that the three seasons of Picard, frankly.

And he knows it, and he’s grateful to have been able to give depth to Bester. He has said as much in interviews. As B5 fan, this makes me very happy.

Demona wouldn’t be the disturbingly seductive menace she is without Marina Sirtis’ voice.

I’ll never forget the Powers That Be who passed on the Global Frequency pilot. Michelle Forbes was glorious as Miranda Zero.

And the gag with Ransom calling Una the sexiest, given the actors’ relationship.

Antisocial people existing doesn’t mean that cities should be planned to cater mainly to them

VOY is the most scientifically illiterate of all Trek series. They tried to sound at least as “sciency” as TNG, but:

  • They spent half a season searching ores on planets while mentioning a gas
  • They invented the “iso-” pseudo prefix to hide they didn’t understand the metric system (in a prior episode they were alarmed by a cosmic event generating as little pressure as 10 atmospheres).

I consider Discovery in its own disaster category. They didn’t even try to make sense.

Voyager had at least a veneer of palatable Trek. Sometimes.

Thank you, yes.

Star Trek executive producer wants more Strange New Worlds episodes, and I’m nervous ( screenrant.com )

Strange New Worlds has been my favorite Trek since Next Generation, and if the quality continues, could easily be my favorite Trek ever. But with the e.p. wishing for more episodes per season, there’s a danger of diluting the show by adding weak episodes that would have never made it in a 10 episode season....

It requires 8 or 9 months of 18+ hours, 6 days weeks work. It’s insane and only possible in the US.

Which particular episode(s) of Star Trek do you find yourself going back to?

Just interested if there’s an episode of a particular series you find yourself going back to? Not necessarily “the best” or your favorite, just one you gravitate toward for a comfort re-watch? Here’s the episodes from each series I find myself re-watching a lot:...

Seeing and hearing so many “boimlerisms” on the flesh made me very happy.

richieadler ,

Indeed. Watching Ready Room and paying attention to details after Jack Quaid mentioned the effort to include them was really nice. And Mariner’s demeanor and speech patterns were awesome. No wonder the cast felt “energized”. The animated faster tempo is real.

I find this explanation plausible and funny.
