Maybe it's a combination of both the sheer abundance of energy and the ability to create almost everything out of it...

EarMaster ,

There are use cases for battery trains. In remote, mountainous locations where the cost for electrifying a track is very high it is not uncommon to use electric trains with batteries. Here in Germany we have several regions where diesel trains have been replaced by them.

It's like Futurama but in the Trek canon...

EarMaster ,

This is often done for consistency. Especially (although I have to admit that does not apply to TOS) when also heavy makeup or prosthetics are applied.

I always liked the idea of away missions. Beaming down to a different planet every time and exploring all of them sounds so exciting!

EarMaster ,

I prefer the Mad Max style thunderdome intersection...

Wait until you learn about turn right on red...

Three seasons of PIC were already a mistake. The only good thing coming from it is the possibility of a Riker cooking/baking show (which I would totally watch).

You can go to their website and view several webcams. It’s not that different. Climate change is a thing but it’s not that fast…

That particular spot isn’t a slope anymore though - so you couldn’t recreate this shot as easily. ¯\(ツ)/¯

I understand what you mean, but they couldn’t resist the “end of the universe as we know it” trope. That was totally unnecessary in my opinion.

EarMaster ,

That’s true, but especially for a show aimed at kids the survival or wellbeing of the crew would have been more than enough. There was absolutely no reason at all to bring up a plan to destroy the whole Starfleet…

EarMaster ,

I already wrote it in the other thread: I loved DS9 Harbinger. I remember the feeling that I could roam around on the promenade freely and explore the station (not sure if the game really was able to deliver that). It had pretty decent graphics for it’s time. I wonder if there are others who also loved this game,

EarMaster , (edited )

I played a lot of Armada (1 & 2) and loved Elite Force (1 & 2). I tried Command and Final Unity but I didn’t understand English enough at the time to know what to do. My favourite game was DS9 Harbinger though because DS9 was also my favourite show.

EarMaster ,

I liked how the remnants of the explosion formed the pattern of a Kolvoord Starburst maneuver.

EarMaster ,

This looks like a Starfleet version of the Klingon Bird of Prey…
