Memmy’s done a phenomenal job at making the Threadiverse more accessible. I bet when it comes out, tons of people will suddenly find it far easier to use Lemmy.
Just killed mine a few ago. I was on for 9 years and although I was more of a lurker, I had some good times on there. So many good saved content, so many liked posts and comments, so many laughs and memories. I am ready to focus on kbin and start that all over here. Its like a good relationship that ended but I am ready to move on.
Yep, the whole thing had ordinary and third party app users pitted against each other, only because blaming the mods would've reopened the subs faster than going against reddit itself. And the fact that 90% of reddit don't use third party app makes it that much worse. Goddammit spez you cunning mf.
Among higher than average users it seemingly was. Given that reddit was saying the third party apps were using above average amounts of API calls per user. They said it's because of the 3PAs baing unoptimized but it was likely that more engaged users used 3PAs.
Wow so they've prioritised the casual users over the power users... You know, the ones who actually post the content... This should go well /s
Anecdotal, but I've been talking about this whole thing to my partner. She doesn't really care though because, in her own words: "I tried to use Reddit a little while ago, but I didn't like the app"
It is. I was just using it because I thought I would support Reddit with it. But the recent changes showed what you get for that. Now I'm not using Reddit anymore.
I was hoping he put something special in like a countdown with that last update. Or that you could still open it and see something. App is totally dead.
Update: Apparently Reddit killed all the third party apps themselves early. Probably knowing we would comment only to protest and complain.
Welcome to the fediverse friend. Might take a week or two to figure out, and the bugs are still being sorted, but boy is it a nice change of scenery. And once the apps come it'll feel like home again.
@Kill_joy I'm just waiting for my data export to come through (it's been over a week since I requested it), then I'll submit a GDPR deletion request – any other way of deleting only hides the data from the web, but it remains in their databases.

I get why you're posting this comic and I contextually agree with you. However, the comic itself is bad, and it distorts quite a bit what Popper said.
The quote in the Wikipedia link that you've shared is considerably better:

Sorry, but what comic are you referring to? Some other users also referenced panels of a comic, but I don’t see any comic—or any link other than to Wikipedia.
Either it was edited in and that edit didn't reach your instance, or Lemmy doesn't like something about how Kbin does images. Either way, here's a direct link to the comic (you'll have seen it before, it's posted a lot).
Annoyingly, I can’t view the post from its own instance because it seems like Kbin requires an account even to view?
Would love if someone has a Lemmy link to any instance other than mine so I can rule out that first possibility.

This is definitely very possible. I’ve already encountered cases where Kbin users weren’t able to interact with my images from Lemmy in quite the same way Lemmy users could.
Interesting that the image doesn’t show up embedded even in another Kbin instance. @Otome-chan you seemed to have some knowledge, do you know what’s up?
