The SCOTUS Code of Conduct urges recusal from a case to avoid the appearance of impropriety.

If Clarence Thomas followed the new code, he would recuse from Trump's presidential immunity case next week.

How could he appear to be impartial given his wife Ginni’s role in Jan. 6?

@rbreich He only has to worry about appearance. Actual impropriety is OK.
Besides, he can always wear a hat to change his appearance.

He obviously doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the appearance of impropriety. If he did he wouldn’t have blatantly broke the rules for 25 years.

You’d think Roberts would do something to repair his legacy. But he won’t. Cowardice and corruption will be his legacy.

@rbreich My ex is an avid believer in homeopathic medicine. She doesn't believe in modern medicine or vaccines. My point? One spouse can believe in conspiracy theories and the other not... mind you, in this case I think they're both corrupt but there can be a gray area.
