Look, have you ever been at 9600 feet in the middle of Tuolumne Meadow with a Brown Bear running straight at you, and thinking, "Man, I wish I had a bag of Cheetos?" In that moment, that very moment, you will appreciate the great sacrifice and tradition of the Great Yosemite Cheeto Delivery!

Each of Trump's 34 criminal counts of false business filings in the New York case carries a penalty of up to four years in prison.

If Trump is convicted, what should the sentence be?

@video_manager@mstdn.social avatar

@rbreich

Sentencing guidelines are very very specific, and include multiple pages of "points" that result in the guideline recommendation. The result is NEVER "add'em all up and consecutive".

Try asking Ken White (@popehat)

Trump held an event for megadonors this weekend.

These super-rich individuals don't seem to care that he wants to free Jan 6 insurrectionists.

Or that he echoes the words of Hitler to dehumanize opponents.

They'll overlook Trump's fascism in exchange for tax cuts.

Be warned.

The SCOTUS Code of Conduct urges recusal from a case to avoid the appearance of impropriety.

If Clarence Thomas followed the new code, he would recuse from Trump's presidential immunity case next week.

How could he appear to be impartial given his wife Ginni’s role in Jan. 6?

Given that Thomas will never vote in their favor anyway, they should bring her up BY NAME and hammer on it.

The blending of White Christian Nationalism and increasingly overt calls for violence is a dangerous combination.

Elon Musk: AI will be smarter than any human around the end of next year

While Musk says superintelligence is coming soon, one critic says prediction is "batsh*t crazy."
