Boeing shareholders approved a $33M pay package for CEO Dave Calhoun, despite overseeing huge losses and safety problems.

It's the biggest package ever given to a Boeing CEO.

Calhoun is resigning by year's end. Guess what he gets then?

A $45 million golden parachute.

Unreal.

@rbreich While the people bearing the brunt of the lack of solid leadership, bear the shame of lack of quality and safety due to higher up decisions, have to continue to work for retirement? Has the mafia been exposed as having gone ivy league and two party to grift and murder for power and money and noone has backbone to stand up for ethics or rights or equality or anything constitutionally sound anymore?

Welcome to politics and business in the U S of friggin' A.

Fun.

An $88 million goodbye?

Even Russian oligarchs don't get that!

Is that what the US has become, a corporate oligarchy?

No one is worth that much money per year. NO ONE. I can see $5 million a year, but anything over that...nope.

@rbreich the 33M is additional to the 45M or replaces it? 🤨

So Dave Calhoun, "retiring" Boeing CEO gets a total of $78 million between now and year end for overseeing a nightmare of engineering, legal problems, and customer problems for Boeing. Imagine what it would pay a successful CEO.

This is a 2x4 in the eye of regulators and those arguing that Boeing should return to being an engineering and safety-led organization, instead of a money extraction regime. Let the lawsuits and prosecutions begin.

Sounds like some fiduciary duties are being violated. The board is supposed to be working for the shareholders, and the shareholders would be quite obviously best served by firing this nincompoop, preferably out of a cannon.

Just watched the pretty decent movie Dark Waters last night about the whole Dupont Teflon ordeal. You see anything like that happening with Boeing? Also could you cite this source? Not really sure where to find this kind of info. Just Google it kinda thing?

Thx

@rbreich Could it be that when the Mafia left Las Vegas they when to the “C Suites” of corporate America? The C suite today appears to be a closed club. They show up at one company, rape and pillage it and then move on to the next.
