59 years ago today, Griswold v. Connecticut guaranteed the right to birth control.

Justice Thomas says the Supreme Court should "reconsider" that ruling.

And this week, 38 GOP senators voted against the Right to Contraception Act.

Republicans are coming for birth control.

@rbreich Similar to the Dobbs decision, overturning Griswold v. Connecticut wouldn't make contraception illegal, rather it would allow assemblies to ban or restrict contraception. Unlike abortion however, the political support for banning contraception in the US is negligible, even if congressional Republicans don't think contraception should be a federal right.

@rbreich The problem with people who identify as "conservative" is they are a bunch of busy bodies who can't keep their noses out of other people's business. They are all like the neighborhood gossip that everyone hates but is afraid to stand up too.

@rbreich or if you read the bill, there were no safeguards based on age

@rbreich Maybe after getting rid of abortion and contraception, the Republicans will go after errctile dysfunction pills. Oh right…rich white men would go ballistic.

@rbreich nothing has ever made me question my service to this country on a personal level- as a young person thinking I was contributing to the joint success & evolution of this nation. Clearly the nation is a cave man that won’t wash its taint or hands. My bad

@rbreich see the big picture. Republicans are pro-guns everywhere. Guns kill children. So we need to produce more children. Result: no abortions, no birth control. It makes all sense.

Griswold v. Connecticut is also the case that established our right to privacy.
If you like having any privacy at all, you want us to keep Griswold v. Connecticut

@rbreich I think you should buy your own. Many people are so far below on the 'food chain' that they don't have sex, meanwhile the government is paying for people to have sex? Just don't do it!

@rbreich They are all scared to death believing the Great Replacement Theory. If whites don't quit aborting--or even Preventing pregnancy' Republicans will no longer exist!

@rbreich I said it before the country is gone. January 6 coup continues. Only getting worse by the day. Once they rig the November election in favor of Trump.. America as in the United States will never return. No one cares.. if they did they would have thrown people in the government in jail for helping Trump attempt the coup in the first place. Women’s rights are being taken away.. everyone else’s rights are next.. and that’s the ball game.

@rbreich its easier to keep breeding more people, have them consume and die without health care, than help people currently living live better. that is the gop way.
