And he’s such a clown that they found a way to shit on Saka.

Alright center libs, you won. Let’s see what you can do.

Welp

She's such a fucking ghoul.

moistclump , in Publicly Threatening to Lose Your Motherfucking Shit and 5 Other Great Ways to Ask for More Civility

Lmfao this is such a solid burn, which being educational!

Do something extremely petty like destroying an affordable housing program that otherwise has wide public support: Let’s say you have some uncivilized Council colleague like Tammy Morales who has spent two years carefully planning a program that cuts red tape for developers and non-profits who want to work together on building sorely needed affordable housing in Seattle – and it doesn’t even cost the city a dime! But you oppose it. And then for some reason that bitch tells the public you oppose it. Burn that shit and her to the ground. Show Tammy and the rest of your constituents who’s boss. Then maybe next time they’ll be more civil by not telling the public the truth about you.

Just watched it for about an hour. Absolutely stunning.

SeaJ , in Obligatory Aurora Borealis post

I hope it is back tomorrow night. I was tending to a screaming toddler the whole time so I missed it.

I believe it should be. I'm 8 timezones away but our news said yesterday:

expected to arrive as early as today and to persist through until Sunday.

SeaJ ,

Crossing my fingers. Saw someone post a pic an hour ago from Eastern Oregon. So far I have not seen anything tonight and the probability is shrinking.

SpaceNoodle , in Obligatory Aurora Borealis post

Couldn't see shit from my place. Was I looking in the wrong direction? At the wrong time? Or is there just too much light pollution on my street?

AmbiguousProps ,

What time and direction?

SpaceNoodle ,

Randomly from 10 to 2, north, west, and south.

AmbiguousProps ,

Hmm, odd. Must've been light pollution, as I was able to pretty clearly see them north, west, east, and right above.

SpaceNoodle ,

Yeah, there's a lot of light pollution in and around this neighborhood.

@lechatron@lemmy.today avatar

Probably too much light pollution. Unless you're far away from any light it's difficult to see with the naked eye. Try taking a picture with a long exposure (just a couple seconds should do it). You'll want to be looking North and they can change in intensity through the night but I was able to get some good photos around 11:30.

poopsmith OP ,
@poopsmith@lemmy.world avatar

I'm not sure, there was a ton of light pollution where I was at. It was all over the sky in every direction and moved around.

SpaceNoodle ,

When?

poopsmith OP ,
@poopsmith@lemmy.world avatar

After it started getting dark. It was very vivid around 10:30ish to 11:30 or so. I went to sleep after that though, so it might've gotten brighter. I was checking periodically earlier but wasn't seeing anything til it suddenly became visible.

khannie ,
@khannie@lemmy.world avatar

It came and went where I was. It was difficult to see with street lights so we went to a nearby football pitch which was dark and could see it then.

Phones definitely making it look better than the eye sees it.

Edit: look North

Debs , in Obligatory Aurora Borealis post

Amazing. I'm down in Portland and a buddy reported seeing it here as well. Gonna try tonight.

Also posting this: https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/aurora-30-minute-forecast

It shows the space weather forecast. I think it was G4 last night.

Drusas , in Obligatory Aurora Borealis post

How the hell. I'm in Seattle and watched it and it was so faint, barely visible at all. You wouldn't have even noticed it if you weren't looking for it.

brotkel ,

Surprisingly, even mid-tier phone cameras can take amazing pictures when the naked eye can barely see anything. To me, it looked like barely visible wispy gray-green clouds, but the pictures on my phone are far more vibrant.

There’s quite a crowd of eager aurora watchers at Carkeek Beach at 10:30, but no light show yet.

Can't do an initiative to ease height limits for affordable housing. Best we can do is make climate policy worse than it already is.

Oh, look, another industry forcing instant roll-backs of new laws by hurting the consumers to "prove" the law is "harmful".
