It's understandable that he didn't have time to learn how to draw, then.

At least we're sending space our best.

Reminds me of this picture of Jonathan (on the left, over 50 years old at the time) in 1886, who’s still kickin’ it at over 190:

I will be very impressed if the S31 movie doesn’t suck.

How Star Trek Brought Back A Popular TNG Actress After 30 Years

I appreciate that they go through the trouble of finding the original actors to voice their characters in Lower Decks even though most people wouldn’t notice if they had someone else do it.

From another article at the bottom of the page:

The fifth member of Nova Squadron, Jean Hajar, also appears in Star Trek: Lower Decks season 4’s finale flashback.

No, she doesn’t.

samus12345 ,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

Oh, really? Didn’t see that! Kind of a weird choice to not show her up close with the rest of them.

Garrett Wang’s repeated requests to be allowed to direct were turned down by Rick Berman

In-universe or out, poor guy just couldn’t catch a break.

William Boimler hatches a plan to try to use Changelings as spies by making them able to pass tests to detect them. What could possibly go wrong?

The part at the end where you could see Tendi flip the switch from being Starfleet officer Tendi to Mistress of the Winter Constellations was great. Curious to see where they go with that. Even though her heart is in being a science officer, from what we’ve been shown she’s very good at being a space pirate leader.

samus12345 ,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

No, it’s just an M class planet like any other. It’s kinda like fertilizing a plant with a person’s remains.

“This guy suuuucks!” was so perfect.

samus12345 ,

I strongly disagree that he lost that fight, though. They were both incapacitated, it was clearly a draw!

samus12345 ,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

It is logical to assume that Tendi will back back within a few episodes.

samus12345 ,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

Well, maybe not so weird when the second time was a direct callback to the first time.

Worf is not a good example of what Klingons don’t do, having been raised by humans. Good point with Kor, though.

Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Lower Decks | 4x09 "The Inner Fight"

LoglineWho knows? They never released one. Edit: They finally released one - how novel to release the actual episode first! Captain Freeman assigns the Lower Deckers an overly safe mission to try and keep a self-destructive Mariner out of danger....

samus12345 ,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

Ethan Peck. Agree! A shame he never got to act opposite Nimoy like Quinto did.

Ferenginar as a whole was uncomfortably familiar, speaking as an early 21st century hu-mon.

samus12345 ,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

Ferengi would have no problem assassinating him if doing so were more profitable than not. I suspect Leeta does some Lord Vetinari-ing behind the scenes to make sure that leaving Rom be is preferable.

samus12345 ,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

Yes, the Betazoids acted that way because of her.

They better enjoy it while they can, their planet’s gonna be destroyed in just 6 years.

samus12345 ,

I wonder if she actually has Bendii syndrome or if she’s just more emotional than a typical Vulcan? Sarek only lived 2 years after his symptoms started showing!

samus12345 ,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

”A report without the subject’s consent would be unethical.” Vulcans monitor other species without their consent all the time, such as in “Star Trek: First Contact”, “The Andorian Incident”, and “Carbon Creek”.

While T’Lyn might just have made it up on Tendi’s behalf, the most recent of those incidents occurred in 2151 (The Andorian Incident). Perhaps Vulcans have modified their code of ethics in the 200+ years since then.

samus12345 ,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

Have we ever actually seen an interaction between a full Betazoid and a Vulcan? I expect Vulcans would find them even more irksome than Humans.

samus12345 ,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

Ah, good recall, forgot all about Tuvok and Suder! Yeah, his abnormal mental state made the interaction between them considerably different than what I was envisioning.

samus12345 ,

I didn’t remember the name, I had to look him up.

samus12345 ,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

I looked it up and it looks like you’re correct, this wasn’t published until 1995. Which explains why I’d never seen it before.

samus12345 ,

“What about Tuvok? You must be excited to see his quarters.”

“Perhaps. Are they austere?”
