I don’t understand. How is calling 911 while driving illegal? Hands free and speaker phones exist.

The article says quite clearly the pit maneuver was due to the frequent vehicle and pedestrian traffic near the hospital. They where endangering others. Potentially many others.

diskmaster23 , in All Foster Kids in California Can Now Attend Any State College for Free

In California, right?

StringTheory ,

Children and teens in foster care across California will be able to attend state and community colleges free of charge under legislation signed into law this week.

Through the new Fostering Futures program, the state will allocate $25 million to cover tuition for foster youth attending a California State University, University of California or a community college, according to state Sen. Angelique Ashby’s office.

Yes, in California.

  • confusedbytheBasics , in These cities are ending fares on transit. Here's why

Transit is basically free in my city. Just look down on your luck and the drivers will wave you through. If they are running behind they will yell at you to “just get on” instead of paying because they care more about being on time than collecting $2.50 (minus credit card fees, minus admin fees, minus grift, minus whatever else).

It seems to work okay. They crazy folks and (extremely) smelly folks would get refused service even if they had $2.50 so I don’t think that is a valid concern.

If anyone is wondering why stocks are tanking so hard today, this is a major factor.

Capital thinks it loses when labor wins. It’s not completely zero sum but they are too dumb to see that. Labor is winning right now.

Many of the companies that have done layoffs in the last year are desperately hiring to fill the gaps they made for no reason. They (corporate leaders) want recession and high unemployment so bad they are flailing.

What I want to know is how much of those are fake jobs that were posted online? And how much on average are those jobs paying? Number of jobs are pointless without other facts to accompany it… :/
