Or not because the characters are so unlikeable that m sorting out the time loops makes you just wish the thing killed them the first time they got in.
"The movie doesn't blatantly contradict itself" is not the selling point that a lit of people think it is.
It’s kind of complex to follow through and they left out a lot of explaining so you have to use your brain. It’s a fun but not great movie. However it’s the only one with properly done time traveling logic and after watching it, you will see all other time traveling movies as a joke.
It’s not as well shot as it could have been and acting could be better. So great in some aspect, yes. Not so much in others. But it’s well worth the watch definitely.
I watched it once in a university cinema. They showed it twice to give people a chance to really understand it but most left, including me because it was so much beyond that a second watch couldn’t clear it up.

I still have no idea if that timeline is close to correct or completely wrong. I still don’t get exactly what the end of the movie means. I highly suspect the movie’s story doesn’t end at the end of the movie, but I have no way to be certain. I still don’t know if a couple of people actually died.
Or, in other words, I only watched it twice. I have no idea what the story is.
I feel it’s a missed opportunity to exclude the ice cream sales and drowning deaths correlation, but that’s just me. I like the maximal time route goes up, though.
It does: Light does not follow the path of minimal distance between two points, but the path of minimal time. This is called Fermat’s principle.
Because water has a higher refraction index than air, light is slower in it and therefore takes a longer time to travel through it. Thus, it takes less time to take a longer path that spends more time in the air.
Fun fact: The underlying law of this principle is the principle of least action. This is the most basic law of nature we know of and can be used to derive all of physics.
The probably of the path it takes is the sum of all possible paths. Richard Feynman uses this exact swimmer in the water example during ok if his lectures.
