I just dont understand that logic

"Oh god, this guy wants a raise? Fuck him, he wont get anything.. but when he quits, hire his replacement at what he was asking for, or higher"

and they wonder why loyalty isnt a thing anymore

A_Random_Idiot ,
@A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world avatar

We cope by saying they hire a replacement who asked for more. The reality is they generally don’t. They either offload the work to the rest of the dept and go “oh look at that we didn’t need them!” as the group drowns OR they find a wide eyed, younger professional who will take a crap - or at least lower - salary.

Which doesnt seem to be common, seeing how you have shit like the report that OP posted that job hopping massively increases income.

This is probably a dumb question, but if we eliminate the hydrophobia caused by rabies, would it increase the survival rate of active rabies?

I’ve been learning some about rabies and learned about rabies causing hydrophobia. This is just a theory, I’m not saying I know anything about this topic to be knowledgeable, but if we could get someone with rabies to not fear water, could they survive?

and didnt they use it on that girl that survived cause she didnt report the bite until it was too late, so it was either try something dangerously crazy like Mulwaukee Protocol, or just die miserably?

all these greedy fucks balking at the idea of paying employees a living wage are short sighted fucking morons.

You know what happens when employees get better pay?

They spend more

Which means your business will see more customers, and wil earn more

That is, if your business isnt run by a myopic jackass who cant see beyond the his own personal and immediate greed. *-

What it looks like is an image you are gonna look at and realize how stupid you were in retrospect when the inevitable tragedy occurs from allowing your pets to treat a washer/dryer as a fun place to play and hide.

A_Random_Idiot ,
@A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world avatar

Yep. Its not a matter of if, but when.

“but I always check first!” Yeah, until you are busy one day and don’t. Then you beat and broil your pet to death in the most cruel and inhumane way possible.

No idea how many times I’ve seen pictures like this, that inevitably…Maybe a week, maybe a month… maybe a year later, inevitably end up with tragedy and sobbing, and absolute refusal to take any personal responsibility for what they did.

“If you can make $20/hour at Taco Bell, with no experience, how much money do you think I’m going to have to pay a cook, who actually has experience?” Stedman continued. “I have to compete with that. Worse, I have to compete for somebody who has zero cooking experience. None, none at all!”

OH GOD, WE CAN’T EXPLOIT THE LABOR ANYMORE. WOE IS US. PLEASE GOD SHOW SOME SYMPATHY FOR OUR GREAT BURDEN OF NOT BEING ABLE TO EXPLOIT THE DESPERATE ANYMORE!

A_Random_Idiot ,
@A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world avatar

Yep.

Plenty of places are thriving with higher minimum wage.

This restaurant crying this hard isnt because they cant afford the wages. Its that owners grew fat on the exploitation, and will now have to slim their excess to pay proper, fair wages.

They got a PPP loan.

but the question is. Did they use the PPP loan like they were supposed to?

because so many of those PPP loans just ended up being free money for owners/executives and the bottom rung workers who needed it most didnt see a dime.

@A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world avatar

Why not? Megacorps and billionaires wreck the economy all the time, and exploit it for their favor.

Why not let the poor and worker class wreck it for once.

Set the whole goddamn thing on fire, and throw the rich into it.

Milwaukee and Ryobi are owned by the same company.

Ryobi occupies the entry level/budget market, and Milwaukee is the upper tier/professional market.

I think Rigid is also owned by the same company and occupies the market between the two.

They also manufacturer tools for other companies, like I think Walmarts Hart brand.

@A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world avatar

They must be decent since Walmart still sells them and i’ve not seen much, if any, bad press about them.

Honestly debated picking up some Hart stuff at a couple points, but I’m a cheap miser who keeps falling back to using his something like 70 year old corded drill.

But muh market segmentation!

A_Random_Idiot ,
@A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world avatar

Which is why there are a plethora of battery adapters out there to allow you to use almost whatever goddamn battery you want on any tool you want (in the same voltage group, at least), lol :D

A_Random_Idiot ,
@A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world avatar

Nah, its not that, just dealing with the extention cord gets old and tiresome, especially when its 90 degrees out and the heats making your temper flare:p

But on the plus side… Its a brushed motor, so every time i pull the trigger its like my own personal 4th of july, lol.
