Not at all. They get defederated. Fuck em.

CJOtheReal ,

Most lemmy instances defederated that Facebook BS factory right after it was announced.

True, a single person cant, but everyone agrees that Facebook can go fuck itself and that it ain’t getting the stuff from us.

CJOtheReal ,

Ok, bad for you, you get Facebook in your life.

CJOtheReal ,

Because i don’t want him to even know i exist…

And you are getting into his software, your stuff gets federated and they are likely to try and federate ads into the cloud.

CJOtheReal ,

CJOtheReal ,

I want to stay as far away from Facebook as possible, my actual private data is safe because the login stuff doesn’t get federated and there isn’t much of it.

CJOtheReal ,

CJOtheReal ,

I mean obviously, but why gift it to them on a silver plate?

A case for preemptively defederating with Threads ( kbin.social )

There were a lot of arguments for and against regarding ads, privacy, and content quality, but I don't...

Thinking on creating a guide on leaving Twitter etc. for creators, etc., some tips on what it should include? ( kbin.social )

A lot of artists, etc. are reluctant to leave corporate social media like Twitter, due to fears over the Fediverse (usually spread by other people, that think Fediverse = Gab + some cryprobros + maybe Pawoo), or not willing to understand it....

CJOtheReal ,

Next DNS and set Twitter.com and X.com to the block list, you just use it out of habit, you won’t even bother changing it back.
