Beginner question here: My grandfather gave me both of his cameras, because he’s suffering from Macular degeneration and can’t use them anymore. One of his Cameras is the EOS IX which works with the discontinued APS-films. Is there any way to still use this camera? Or will just be a (relatively) pretty paperweight?...
I vaguely remember having a similar issue with a different terminal emulator. As I recall the keyword to search for is alignment. I think what’s happening is that the symbol border falls inside a pixel instead of on the border between pixels. This results in font smoothing taking effect, which produces that off-color line.
You can try and play with the font smoothing. Maybe disabling sub-pixel smoothing doves this particular issue. It would produce others, though. Or maybe it’s enough to increase the margin.
I just moved to a new house, and after setting up my washing machine it now shakes a lot while running, like it moves itself 3 or 4 inches sometimes. It seems to really shake for a 5-15 seconds then runs normal for a while. No real discernible pattern....
So I'm definitely missing something with Lemmy...I've tried creating an account on their site, but it's never gone through. I know we get the same stuff on kbin as we do on Lemmy, but I was curious to try both out.

I tried creating my account on Lemmy about a month ago, and it just kept doing the scrolly-wheel of doom and it never appeared to go through. I tried again today to see if it would work now, but, when I try to create the account, it says that it already exists, but trying to log in does nothing.

Sometimes you want a command to be automatically executed as soon as a certain file changes. There is a small tool called entr, which helps with that.
