You know how, when playing a first person shooter or something similar, you can endlessly move the mouse in one direction without leaving the window? That’s because the game tells the system “the mouse shouldn’t leave this box”, so when you’re at the edge, it doesn’t move further.
This is something I always wondered because some people have a bunch of theories about whether your head should face north or south or whatever, because of the earth magnetic field. Is there any science in this or just “superstition”?...
Although you’re practically right, we can technically actually sense magnetic fields. It’s incredibly weak and you have to drown out all other senses, but it’s possible.
The uncertainty principle fundamentally can’t fall. It’s not a limitation of our measurement devices, it’s a fundamental limitation of physics that, as far as we know, can’t be broken.
Also, Sabine Hossenfelder has horrible takes regarding trans people, so I’d take anything from her beyond her immediate field with a giant grain of salt.
