@arstechnica I have an old laptop with an ancient CD version of CS4 and use it when I need to ise InDesign. I refuse to pay for a stupid subscription. I didn't know there's a cancellation penalty!!

Today’s CPI report shows meat & poultry are among the highest items pushing inflation.

Maybe that's because just 4 companies now control processing of 80% of beef, nearly 70% of pork, and almost 60% of chicken.

Without competition, corporations can get away with price gouging.

@rbreich just for some context about meat companies. I live in a rural Tennessee county not too far from a high tech hub. Last year some guy who doesn't live here bought 20 acres and contracted with Tyson on a chicken factory farm. It's ruined our neighborhood, it smells horrific, children have respiratory problems, and our property values have been destroyed. I'm now a vegan because I don't want to contribute to the destruction of other neighborhoods. Modern meat production ruins lives.
