Man, I miss shittymorph. I remember when this was posted for the first time and everyone on Reddit lost their minds because it wasn’t an undertaker joke. Lost my dog this year, makes me a little sad :(
That’s fair and I apologize. I was mostly just being silly with all the constant talk about Texas and Florida leaving, and all the complaining certain Texas elements do about the rest of the country, but if you really feel I was being shitty, I am sorry.
There is a vocal subset of the population that are against things like connecting the Texas power grid to others, but then also complain and ask for federal assistance when it fails. Then there’s ted Cruz and Greg abbot, I don’t really need to qualify that. For the rest of you, hang in there!
The law and order party doesn’t give a fuck about the law when it applies to the stank cheeto who’s fart box they’re tongue punching in between golden shower gargle breaks.
The hard red states don’t want people living there that aren’t puritanical fundamentalist bootlickers. They want people who disagree to leave.
People SHOULD leave, let these cesspools rot. I’ll even contribute to a fund that builds a wall around those states. They should also forfeit all federal funding because it’s too “socialist”.
Let’s just do all of them while we’re at it. They literally hold themselves above the law and should instead be held to a higher and stricter standard than anyone.
Same- with kids and a wife and a house that is non stop projects I value the time I get to spend away from work a lot. I have a 401k, I’m going for stability over squeezing every last dollar out of every opportunity.
I also think of it this way- I’m a big DIY guy, and the money I save on labor is basically another salary. The fact that I have fun doing it too is a bonus. My work affords me time to do that rather than being on call at all hours.
I’m in one of those spots where I make pretty good money but I know I could make more if I left to work for a bigger company- however, I really like my company and it’s really low stress and very low BS that I have to deal with. I like my coworkers and I have a great relationship with the clients. I’ve been there for nearly 15 years and it has excellent work life balance. So when I consider all of that, an extra 20k doesn’t really sound that great if I hate my life every day.
