He’s been saying what every central banker has been saying as well. It’s why they’ve been raising rates, they just phrased it in slightly softer language.
They will solve every economic crisis by taking from the working class and funneling that money to the rich. It’s how they fixed the GFC, COVID and now inflation. The wealthy are not to be made to ‘suffer’.
I don’t think anyone seriously had the ‘become a billionaire by starting a company and revolutionising the industry’ as a career plan. Most of us just switch companies every few years as a way to get a raise.
Ford pardoning Nixon is what allowed subsequent Republican Presidents to do a ton of illegal shit, knowing they’d probably get away with it. If Nixon had gone to prison, you think Reagan would’ve done Iran-Contra? Trump probably wouldn’t even have considered running for President of there was a precedent of actually holding them accountable.
It’s not just the corporations renting those offices, it’s the politicians of downtown areas that fear a downturn in tax revenue due to more empty offices and less people getting their daily coffee/lunch/after work drinks.
And of course, if everyone’s working remotely, this means it’s a lot easier to find a better job without even needing to leave the house to interview, which gives employees a better bargaining position (downside is that employers will start looking at employees in lower paying countries as well).
It still amazes me how Trump keeps finding people that’ll work for him and somehow expect him to stay loyal to them, despite all evidence to the contrary.
