Pretty lame, basically just giving lifetime achievement awards to a bunch of beloved elderly actors rather than basing the awards on the shows and performances in question.

In reality it’s just a factor of the difference between a comedic cartoon and live action, but I sort of love the idea of it being an actual cultural difference between the two timelines, with people in the even more utopian lower decks era having gotten looser and wackier.

Maybe society just keeps getting less formal over time and by then “Hi” is one of the more formal ways to greet someone, as opposed to just “sup” or [suggestive eyebrow movement]

I think it makes sense that a brief bout of amnesia like that could be revealing of your underlying traits and feelings, but that in the normal course of things it’s very important to have your memories.

I felt like they were trying to show Captain Pike as going a little far when beating up Zac, but I thought he was being totally reasonable given the situation of “this guy knows how to keep your memories and you really really need to force him to hand that information over.” There was no way for him to know all he had to do was wait around in the palace for a little while.

That’s a bit of a disingenuous read when what they’re getting at is that Ukraine is obviously not going to conquer Russia.

See it seems like you’re arguing that Ukraine is going to be defeated militarily, which isn’t a crazy thing to argue necessarily, it’s just not the claim the article was making.

You are doing some elaborate theorizing about why their article that doesn’t support your view or the title you gave it actually does indicate RAND supports your view.

Well if you read the article you’d see they’re saying that neither Ukraine nor Russia are going to be able to knock the other out of the war, and that therefore we need to think about what a negotiated settlement will ultimately look like.
