I have an all around mutt that we tested and learned that among everything else, he has a good chunk of Lab DNA. But when we really found out that his personality was truly lab was when we took him to the lake and let him off leash. He could have run around the Forrest and chased squirrels which he loves to do, but instead he chose to run down to the pier and jump into the lake even though he had never done it before. Almost as if it was perfectly natural for him. He still hates baths tho 🤣
This is something I always wondered because some people have a bunch of theories about whether your head should face north or south or whatever, because of the earth magnetic field. Is there any science in this or just “superstition”?...
The only real effects that I know of are light related. If you’re trying to sleep, making it as dark as possible is best. So using an eye cover or blackout curtains can help. But when you want to wake up, sunlight helps us wake up easier. This can be tricky in the winter when the sun rises later and doesn’t peek into your window until after you’ve already had to wake up. I think there are some phone alarms that will slowly add a warm light to the room to help with this, but I couldn’t say if they actually work or not. Hope this helps.
I’ve heard stories about people receiving citations for letting homeless people sleep in their garage on nights with dangerous negative temperatures in Chicago. And while I get that we have laws for a reason to prevent certain situations from occuring that may be dangerous, it seems like if your choice is definitely die from -15F overnight or risk maybe the chance that if the garage catches fire, it wasn’t made to the same fire safety standards as a house… Just seems like a no brainer to me. Usually judges are supposed to read emergency situations like this and throw the charges out, but it sounds like they won’t even negotiate with this guy :/
I have an unfinished basement. It would be a great place for a workshop but some hobbies don’t do well in a dusty environment. Would setting up an air purifier help? Even then I’m concerned it wouldn’t get the entire volume of air....
I also have an unfinished basement that I’m working on sealing. Generally the dust comes from the unsealed concrete. Assuming your unfinished basement actually has concrete walls and floor, you can do the same to prevent the dust in the first place. They sell concrete sealer at hardware stores and you can have them color it to your liking as well. Just need to wash the floor and walls first, then paint it with a couple coats depending on the brand of paint. Aside from that, if you don’t want to seal the basement, you’ll just want to create a walled off area using sheets or plastic or similar that will prevent dust from getting into the area and then using an air purifier like you mentioned. This is really only good as a temporary solution, but it could work fine for a quick fix while you figure out your basement situation.

Is there any scientific study about where should the bed be facing?

this is a classic example of how policing as an institution is broken and should be completely destroyed in its current form, or outright abolished...
How can I keep dust out of an unfinished basement? Or at least off of a specific area and table?
