Look at all those healthcare companies. Fifty years ago, such a list might have a Big Pharma company, but no patient care portals at all (hospitals, pharmacies, etc). Now they dominate the whole list.

And it’s also worth noting that several of these are also huge players in the opioid crisis, including the four who settled to avoid state lawsuits that would have gutted them (looking at you Cencora, McKesson, Johnson&Johnson, and Cardinal Health).

You’re taking them at their word that all hands are required back. It is zero effort for them to carve out exceptions for key staff – or literally any group or individual they want to please – while still bleating about ‘come back to the office or be fired’ to the press and everyone else. Corporate heads talking out of both sides of their mouth is the norm, not the exception.

Elton John was the person that came to mind when I read that as well, but it’s actually the other way around: Elton John is the composer, Bernie Taupin is the lyricist.
