Had guy asking me to turn like that and when I refused he gave me the finger as he finally drove on. How come they hold up traffic and then get mad at you for not driving into on coming traffic?
A Louisiana House committee voted Thursday to repeal a law requiring employers to give child workers lunch breaks and to cut unemployment benefits — part of a push by Republicans to remove constraints on employers and reduce aid for injured and unemployed workers....
What the fuck you talking about. That fucking Google. I make 18.50 and don’t have a degree our work in tech. And I don’t live in a city that has high cost of living. You out your mind saying 19 is good enough?
Your a fucking asshole. Did you watch the video? They had to have bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience to even work there. On top of that living in Austin Texas. A fucking expensive city. Fuck Google and fuck you for not standing up for your fellow workers.
Guess your some rich prick that doesn’t know what work is.
Any company that trys this will lose a shit ton of employees to a competitor who will offer lunch and rest breaks. Hell thier is no federal law giving workers breaks now and my state doesn’t have it either. Yet every company offers lunch and some offer breaks. Fuck this bill but workers will still get those breaks or they will go work somewhere else.
A UN poverty expert called on the CEOs of Amazon, DoorDash and Walmart on Tuesday to address allegations that wages at the US-based corporations are trapping workers in poverty, forcing them to rely on US Government benefits to survive.
Exactly I spend more down time at my job then I ever had in my life. Even though my job can’t be done at home we literally could be open only 6 hours a day and still make the same amount of money.
This how much free time I have. I have read 32 John Grisham novels in the Last two months that is peepered in with other novels. It’s ridiculous the amount of commuting tolls and gas I pay and I might altogether work literally 3 of the 9 hours I am at work.
My friend works at Walgreens in the pharmacy and it’s fucking nightmare. Unfortunately they can’t walk out because we are at will state and if they protested they all just be fired.
Is this immediately our over some 5 year period bullshit? Also I make 18.50 in fucking Oklahoma one cheapest states to live in and barely getting by. No way is 20 shit in California.
My company says we don’t sell 30 million in flooring in next 6 months we might have to close our doors. But in the next two weeks they are flying all the branch managers to Chicago, putting in a fancy hotels and wine and dine them. They already did the same thing with the sales reps. I asked If they couldn’t have these meetings on Zoom. My boss didn’t like that.
Fucking new CEO one of those guys who last 5 companies he ran them into the ground. Already does weekly Zoom meetings I see no reason company that apparently running out of money had to close 20 branches suddenly as all the money to throw around wining and dining upper management.
That message is spot on. It is one of the dumbest ideas capitalism brings you. Remember in the 50’s they post articles in magazines how the future was going be all relaxation and robots doing all the work.
But between Baby Boomers and conservatives along with the nature of capitalism we get this hellscape instead.
We actually have most states going backwards on child labor laws anything other than raise wages and fix this horrible economy that favors only the super wealthy.
It would be nice to have curtains that absorb street noise.
Some custom curtain tailors offer a fabric that claims to be soundproof. It’s a little pricey. Not absurdly pricey, but it’s also a bit hard to be confident that such thin fabrics can absorb much sound (they claim 20%).
I would prefer to try hacks. I’ve heard that thick furniture moving pads absorb sound well. I’ve also heard that fiberous fabrics can be effective. For the moment, I probably want to pass on edgy ideas like egg cartons. Maybe later on those. What fabrics are decent for reducing sound? Specifically, I’m wondering about carpets or painter’s drop cloths. Not the simple white canvas drop cloths, but the thicker drop cloths may out of recycled fabrics.
