In the middle of my spawn base...

We’re installing a new app on a secure network. The vendor has requested we allow access to gstatic.com. That seems overly broad to me and unsafe. Thoughts?

I’ve been playing japanese games on my steam deck lately and have discovered a useful workflow for looking things up if you’ve got an Android device on hand....

I would like to be able to configure a shortcut that allows me to, for example, switch one workspace to the right by the shortcut + . I tried configuring this in the “Shortcuts” section of System Settings, but it didn’t appear to work.

If I have my phone unlocked and the app open it seems to work on my computer but after a while it just seems to stop working completely.

Solution...

Most of what works in the Star Trek movies evolve from what we know about the characters. Kirk’s love for his ship and history with the Klingons, Picard’s history with the Borg, Data’s struggle with emotions, that sort of thing....

It appears that spectacle currently only gives you the options to record “Workspace”, “Selected Screen”, and “Selected Window”. It would be nice to also have the option to record a selected area in the same way as you can select an area for screenshots....

Is the darkspace theme something that comes packaged with Lemmy or something the server admins are throwing together? I love where it’s going but its in need of some love… there’s nothing to make the posts readable against the background....

If I’m on an X11 session, when I drag any file or program icon, be it in the desktop or the file manager, the icon always lags behind cursor; it freezes in its place until the cursor stops moving, then moves there. Is there a way to fix this?...

I remember reading somewhere that mathematical symbols make up an “incomplete” written language (or something like that). I commonly formulate problems, or complete sentences using only mathematical symbols. From a linguistic perspective, what separates mathematical symbols from “complete” writing systems?
