Rent control doesn’t address the root of our housing problems: a lack of available high-density housing. NIMBY homeowners have made it illegal to build new apartment complexes and condos via strict zoning laws. They’ve artificially restricted the supply of housing in order to jack up their own property values.
If a town has 80 apartments while 100 families need housing, rent control does nothing for the 20 families who can’t find an apartment when it’s illegal to meaningfully increase the supply of housing.
Housing in Seattle will continue to be fucked until we reform our zoning laws.
New vet so this is the only facility I’ve been to, but I’ve been pretty impressed. Building looks nice, campus is massive, all the facilities you could want. Availability for appointments can be kind of rough but you can’t beat health care for free fifty.

In this article, the interviewed person explicitly denounced Hamas. It might not be the case in other places, but there is room to support the victims on both sides, and denounce the both governments that lead to this terrible situation. Hamas was elected, but then fixed it so they can’t be removed from power. Israeli officials, specifically Bibi, benefited from having Hamas in power to motivate by fear. Hamas has support from Iran because it’s easier to antagonizing Israel through Hamas. Egypt doesn’t want Hamas, they won’t even open their boarders. There are no good guys here. On the one hand, downtown is kind of still a grocery desert since IGA and HMart are still gone. So it sucks that PCC is leaving.
On the other hand, if they were relying on worker foot traffic paying for their overpriced hot bar to turn a profit, that was always a losing proposition. Not sure why they went through with opening when downtown office space vacancies were still at ~30%.

I regularly pass by this encampment. It’s grown recently and there is more garbage than before. It does feel somewhat unsafe to walk by it, so I often go completely around it.
Curious. Historically it was the right that would work their asses off to disrupt, limit and suppress voting. The declaration “Stop giving power to the right” is especially weird considering that four of the five counties involved (Skagit, Snohomish, King, Pierce) are Democrat strongholds. They aren’t giving power to the political right.
It really depends on the genetics, diet, and environment of the person. It sounds early to me, but I’ve also heard of people younger developing early signs.
